Car accident debris, 13th February, ls8

An accident occurred over a week ago on Easterly Road near to Dib Lane Post Office demolishing a traffic bollard. The bollard has been lying around outside the Dib Lane Post Office (next to where accident presumably happened). Not only is the bollard there, but a lot of significant sized pieces of debris from the car are all present. On a second matter, the general appearance with litter, especially discarded take away cartons and beer cans is a constant eyesore,. The pavement area is uneven and scruffy.

Just to make the council aware there is now a new gypsy caravan site located here on Elder Road. They recently moved here and have not yet caused any problems, but as you may know gypsies are well known to cause problems such as robberies and criminal damage. Any rise in criminal activity in this area may be caused by the gypsies.

Fouling of pavement by dog, 12th February, LS6 4JX

I had to clean up a massive fouling right outside my gate a month ago, it was being trod into the pavement and inevitably was being trod up my path and brought into my house it happens often here. I am surrounded by dogs and they all foul the pavement. Or the grass verges. It is disgusting.

'Chicanes' Traffic calming, 12th February, LS14 6UU

These chicanes are a nuisance and there are a lot of 'near-misses' with vehicles having to swerve to avoid oncoming traffic. In heavy traffic, they do little to help pedestrians because the drivers get frustrated by the 'chicanes', and there is little pause in the traffic flow. Pelican crossings near the bus-stops on Foundry Lan would do more to help pedestrians and also to increase traffic flow and efficiency.

Can anything be done to shorten the "time you have to wait "for the crossing signal to be displayed after pressing the button. At present it seems to take a alful long time for the crossing signal to be displayed, causing a lot of frustration for people waiting to cross.

The bins on King George Avenue have not been emptied yet again. How this rd gets forgotten when its the main rd in and out of the estate is beyond me. Snow is no excuse as the rest of the bins have been emptied and King George is the only one to actually get gritted.

I have already reported this to a local councilor about a week ago, but nothing seems to have happened. On council property at the Middleton Leisure Centre near the Ring Road entrance there are a lot of Carling beer cans (over 150) which look as though they have been dumped there with other rubbish. I was told that a team would be sent to clear this eyesore, but my wife has been past, again today, and she tells me that the rubbish and cans are still there. I am not sure if the rubbish has come from the Leisure Centre, or from the rugby ground next door, but to locate the rubbish, you would need to get out of your vehicle and walk along the footpath from the Ring Road car entrance and look at the trees on your left as you face the Highways dept.
