<title>Crosing timings, 9th February</title>
<link>http://www.fixmystreet.com/report/230685</link>
<description>When on foot and crossing at this junction. you get green man to cross safely. But there are always cars turning right both ways on road also. As the lights turn red on Durham road, so does the green man light. so cars waiting to turn right cannot because of oncoming traffic. until light turns red. and green man light comes on. I class this a very dangerous.

<title>Exsesive Dog Fouling, 30th January, Milk Lane NE9 6ER</title>
<link>http://www.fixmystreet.com/report/228387</link>
<description>There is a persist and excessive amount of Dog Fouling in this lane on a regular basis. For Many People including School Children this Lane is their main Walkway and preferred route up to Durham Road.

It would also Appear to be a regular route for Dog owners returning from Dodd's Dene. While I have seen a number of responsible owners pickup after their dogs, their must be a substantial number that do not judging by the amount of dog feces in this lane.

It would me of great benefit to the people using this lane on a daily basis if dog owners could be reminded of their responsibility, the law and the penalties in this matter, with notices, verbal warnings and fines if needs be. And/or the lane was cleaned on a more regular basis. I appreciate that this is a back lane but it is a very busy one used by many pedestrians everyday.

<title>Inconsiderate Parking, 23rd January, NE8</title>
<link>http://www.fixmystreet.com/report/226484</link>
<description>In this area, people continually park in inconsiderate ways.

Pavement parking occurs on the pavement opposite the Station Hotel, on the pavement outside the Central Pub (inbetween the pub and the trainline, I am not sure if this is private land and therefore completely legal). On the pavement by one of the entrances to the empty yards (tyhe one which has all the advertisement boards).

On Half Moon Lane where access restrictions are in place, people park on this street during the restricted times.

One car is continually parked on the Junction of Half Moon Lane and Mirk Lane under the Train Bridge, where the Double Yellow line stops.

As pay and display parking is operated in this area, all of these incosiderate parked vehicles, are avoiding the charges for parking in the local area.

Also the roads in the Ochre Yards Development are also used for free local parking by non-residents, but I have no idea who should be responsible for this.

<title>Litter, 13th January, dh7</title>
<link>http://www.fixmystreet.com/report/224251</link>
<description>I complained about litter at a layby at this location on the northbound A1 on FixMySt, yesterday - as well as litter strewn verges on the A1 from Chester-le-St to the Metrocentre. Gateshead council replied - &amp;quot;we are not responsible - contact the Highways Agency(A1)&amp;quot;. This is the HA reply :- Thank you for your email which was logged with the Highways Agency Information Line. A-one+ is the Managing Agent Contractor for the Highways Agency in this area and we maintain the motorways and trunk roads on their behalf .

With regards to your comments about litter on the A1(M), we have been working north from junction 63 ( Chester Le Street) towards and just past the Washington services . North of the end of the A1(M) i.e where the road becomes the A1, an all purpose trunk road, litter collection becomes the responsibility of the local authority, on this occasion, Gateshead Council.

I have forwarded your comments for their action.

Regards

Colin Mortimer

SO - Gateshead Council IS responsible for clearing the litter from the A1 TRUNK ROAD...

<title>Litter, 12th January, DH7 9RY</title>
<link>http://www.fixmystreet.com/report/224043</link>
<description>Lay-by on northbound side of A1 is strewn with litter.

BUT all the A1/A1(M) verges from Chester-le-Street through past the Metrocentre are rubbish strewn. Southbound as well. NO effort seems to have been made to clean up this mess, as I have complained several times before, without result. It's a terrific introduction to the North-East for visitors travelling south from the airport ! The Highways Agency (or whomever) needs to get a grip on this.
