A pothole has developed at the turning from High Street Houghton, into Bedford Road, which has helped to exacerbate another problem pothole along High Street at this junction, as drivers have been swerving around this hole since about February when it first began to appear, and have now increased the size of another hole further along.

Another big pothole at traffic lights, 12th May

This pothole has developed at a point where traffic approaching from both sides of the High Street and Bedford Road intersect this junction. It causes problems for traffic coming from all three of these directions and is approx 40cm wide x 3cm deep (this is a visual observation, as I am not going to get out and measure it at such a busy junction!). Playground excess noise, 2nd May, LU5 5RU

Please could someone attend the playground situated in the middle of Brentwood Close/ Enfield Close/ Elm Park Close, with a view to fitting some rubber around the gate to the playground. The problem is that when the gate is opened/closed the gate and the railing s make a lot of irritating noise for the residents living nearby. It shouldn't take much to fix. Also, a can of WD40 on the gate hinge would be a good idea! Thanks.

Manhole cover missing, 2nd May, LU5 5RU

Opposite Parkside Close, in the middle of the footpath on Windsor Drive, is an open manhole cover. If a person was to walk along the path and not see the hole, they would fall in. Not sure where the cover has gone. There are cables in the hole. Please make this area safe

Alleyway needs clearing, 29th April, leaside, houghton regis

By the side of 9 Leaside, Houghton Regis. The pathway at the side of this house used to be grass but was converted to a hard path when the houses at the side were built. The pathway now has overgrown plants that should be being looked after by the Council. Please could you kindly keep this pathway on the schedule of works to be regulalry maintained. Thank you. Lampost is directly outside the front door of 17 Aswell Walk, Houghton Regis, LU5 5QA. The light is on day and night, and never goes out. Nearby resident suspects photo-electric cells. Please attend. Thank you.

Cars Illegally parking in "Deliverys Only" area., 19th April, houghton regis

Nusance cars and taxis parking in Deliverys Only area. This is causing a nusance to vehicles which are delivering and Loading/Unloading and need to use this area for its intended use. Signage is very poor for this delivery area, only current signs that exist are 1 No entry sign with deliverys only on it. And two no parking in this area, Except for deliveries signs attached to metal railings. All of these signs are completly faded and need replacing. Also the No parking in this area signs need to be put all the way along the section of railings and not just the start. This is on High Street, Houghton Regis, Beds. (on the back of the shops backing onto the high street just before the roundabout. Hope this can be fixed.

Dangerous dead trees, 19th April, LU5 5SP

I have reported this to the council on several occasions, and nothing has been done to fix this problem. I believe someone came out and looked, but decided not to act. The trees in question are along the alley way that runs along the side of St Vincents and Hammersmith Close, and to the rear of my property. They have been dead now for more than two years. Each time there is a storm, I fear that they will blow down and smash into my consevatory. I already had one several years ago land on my childrens play house. I really would like to see something done to these trees before the winter comes along again, and it will be impossible to determine by the authorities whether they are dead or dormant! I have attached a photo as evidence, this is taken from my garden. I also have some shots from the alleyway, and of how it should look by now, but I can only upload one picture!

Fensome Drive Potholes, 23rd March, LU5 5RU

I reported potholes in Fensomes Drive, Houghton Regis in January (http://www.fixmystreet.com/report/157995), but I note they are still awaiting attention. Is a section of the road programmed for resurfacing? If not, then I must ask that you attend the 2 potholes outside 25 Fensomes Drive, plus several others on this road towards the junction with Parkside Drive, that are all a couple of inches deep. Zebra crossing Beacons not working!, 9th March

Both of the zebra crossing beacons on the crossing on Parkside Drive, Houghton Regis (near the junction with Bromley gardens) are not working. One of the yellow beacons has been damaged and is missing completly and the other ones bulb is out. I see this as very high priority, due to the fact that the crossing is no longer visable due to the lights being out and somebody could get injured on the crossing by a car because of this. Also maybe some sheilds would be a good idea to put over the crossing lights to prevent damage or vandalism to them. Another zebra crossing in the nearby area has covers fitted around the lights and they have never been damaged since the crossing was installed!
