A quantity of rubbish has been left scattered across the large sandpit area at Bawsey, left over from the snow when much of it was used for sledging down the steep side slopes of the pit

Flytipped and overnight campers in Bawsey Country Park, 29th May, PE32 1EP

The "beach" area within the Bawsey Country Park has suffered over the past seven days by flytipping a large quantity of waste comprising drinks bottles, cans, plastic bottles and food containers, instant barbecue trays and food waste. Many of the bottles are also broken and scattered accross the sand providing a hazard to walkers, picnicers and aniimals alike. This area is also being used by overnight campers (see top right of picture) who presumably have to use the area as their toilet, leaving the area contaminated by their human waste (there are no public toilet facilities for miles)

A huge quantity of fly-tipped rubbish / litter, comprising drinks bottles, cans, plastic bottles and food containers, instant barbecue trays and food waste ...... etc etc etc has been left flytipped accross the "beach" area within the Bawsey Country Park. Many of the bottles are also broken and scattered accross the sand providing a hazard to walkers, picnicers and aniimals alike. This problem is noticeably greater than that noted on the previous weekend when walking in the same area. At the Bawsey Lakes, this fantastic resource is being spoilt by people who like to picnic and party, which is great, but whilst they are able enough to take all their food, drinks and other stuff with them when going to their chosen spot, they seem incapable of taking their rubbish home with them, or even as far as the bins that are provided near to the designated car parking area. Picture taken on the morning of 29nd May 2010 represents only a small example of the problem in this location

Inevitably, the good weather encourages people to go out and have a picnic. At the Bawsey Lakes, this fantastic resource is being spoilt by people who like to picnic, and whilst they are able enough to take all their food, drinks and other stuff with them when going to their chosen picnic spot, but seem incapable of taking their rubbish home with them, or even as far as the bins that are provided near to the car parking area.
