<title>Broken neck after fall from playpark swing., 18th August</title>
<link>http://www.fixmystreet.com/report/129584</link>
<description>My 11 year old son, Conner has broken his neck falling out of the swing on the park at Frank Webb Avenue. On the 5th August 2010. He was in hospital for 8days and because the damage is on his upper cervical vertebra there is nothing that can be done until the fracture heals so he has to wear a neck collar 24/7 for the next 6wks.
There is nothing to hold on to or prevent kids from falling out on the swing and its clearly dangerous and needs removing asap.

<title>Sons broken neck!, 18th August</title>
<link>http://www.fixmystreet.com/report/129583</link>
<description>My son fell from a swing and broke his neck.

Conner Hart was being pushed by friends when he fell from the swing at the park on Frank Webb Avenue.

After spending more than a week in Leighton Hospital and the Manchester Royal Children’s Hospital, he’s been allowed home. But he’s virtually confined to bed until October when he’s due back in Manchester for a scan.

Mum Christine Griffiths said: “He’s got movement but his back is very unstable. If his neck wasn’t broken, they’d have kept him in hospital and started physio. But at the moment they can’t manipulate him at all.”

The accident happened on Thursday, August 5.

Mrs Griffiths said: “The children sit in this apparatus and usually a few of them together, and they push it. Conner was on it and he toppled out. He walked home. It’s unbelievable!”

Mrs Griffiths said she isn’t looking to blame anyone - she just wants parents and children to be made aware of the dangers.

Conner will miss starting at Sir William Stanier School next month.

<title>Hedge over hanging path etc., 2nd August</title>
<link>http://www.fixmystreet.com/report/127293</link>
<description>The hedging along Crewe road (a534) from the Crewe fire station to the manchester Metroplitan University Cheshire campus is overhanging the path forcing walkers to walk on the cycle path. This includes mothers with young children who are blocking the cycle path as they have nowhere else to walk. This is an accident waiting to happen, urgent hedge cutting is required to reclaim the footpath and the cycle path. The trees along this route also need trimming as you end up with your head in the leaves when cycling and your visibility is compromised.
The government wants people to use renewable green alternatives to the car, in action in hedge cutting is not making the journey to work any easier, please fix the issue… I pay my rates and expect jobs like this to be routinely done throughout the year, It shouldn’t come to having to report it.

<title>Sat Nav Error, 22nd July</title>
<link>http://www.fixmystreet.com/report/125881</link>
<description>The section of Wybunbury Road directly after the level crossing is wrongly mapped on sat navs etc. as being Wistaston road. This has caused numerous problems with deliveries from couriers, supermarkets and such, as people unfamiliar with the area are confused by this. If someone could get the maps corrected, it would make life a lot easier! Thanks!

<title>Dangerous traffic 'calming', 30th June</title>
<link>http://www.fixmystreet.com/report/122324</link>
<description>Last yr islands were built in Welsh Row to make single line traffic, one outside Malbank School and one by Queens Drive. There is no clear signage to indicate cars must STOP and allow traffic through from other direction. As pedestrian I feel more vulnerable now than before they did the 'calming'. Have asked Cllr to help but nothing happened. Pse put signs up like the one attached, in nearby Marsh Lane

<title>Park Estate Shavington-cum-Gresty Cheshire, 28th June</title>
<link>http://www.fixmystreet.com/report/121851</link>
<description>Despite the usual feeble and recent attempt to fix potholes by gobs of tarmac, a significant number of holes remain unfilled.
Park Estate was adopted in 1961 and residents had to pay to have the road surfaced then. Apart from an occasional stone dressing nothing significant has happened since then.
I have lived on Park Estate since 1977 and I cannot remember any occasion when the surface was stripped and a new layer of tarmac put down.

<title>Unfit road, 23rd June</title>
<link>http://www.fixmystreet.com/report/121177</link>
<description>The main road closure has caused all traffic to go along Warmingham Lane. This road wasn't fit for light traffic before the closure and now has all traffic re-routed along it. It has a 20 yard stretch of pot holes and hugely uneven surfaces that must pose a real danger to any cyclist or motorcyclist. Why wasn't the raod repaired before you knew it would be even more heavily used? When will the road be repaired? On a more widespread problem, why have few if any potholes been identified for repair in Cheshire East? It really is poor planning and makes you wonder what we pay our road tax and council tax for? I identified this issue in January and have still not received a reply.Does anyone care?

<title>Poor road surface condition, 22nd June</title>
<link>http://www.fixmystreet.com/report/120828</link>
<description>Sections of Gresty lane, need resurfacing as many years of patching and filling of the defects has left a very poor surface that is dangerous to cyclists and motorcyclists, It must be noted that there is no cycle lane and children attending Shavinton School use this route and to avoid some of the worst of the damage they ride in the middle of the road!
