I did receive a phone call from a very helpful and understanding lady from the council in response to this report and she said that there are plans to upgrade this pathway, making it wider to accommodate both cyclists and pedestrians. However it apparently depends on available funding being used by the end of the financial year (April) and they were having difficulty locating landowners to get the necessary permissions to proceed.
