And Happy New Year. Seen drain sucking machines at work nearby but not in Marine Square. But they exist, so there's hope!

...happy birthday dear blocked drain, happy birthday to you! Well, it's now been two years since this was first reported. Seasons have come and gone and come snow, rain, ice or hail, that drain hasn't been able to take it away. May I be among the first to wish whoever reads this a happy Christmas 2011. At least the weather is better than this time last year.

Well, October's here. It rained yesterday and, just as predicted, the rain went straight over the blocked drain. Now we're into three figures in terms of weeks since this was reported. Now where did I put that anniversary card?

Just back from a super holiday to return to a mini heatwave, which is nice, and the drain still blocked, which is predictable. The road resurfacing did take place and they made a neat job of it. What will October bring? Rain and water pouring over the drain cover?

Weather's now turned and it's back into jumpers. The fixed broken main's new road surface needs re-doing but it has blue lines around it, so someone will at some point. Whether anyone will unblock the drain is anyone's guess. If not, I might just buy a second anniversary card in a couple of months' time.

Goodness is it 87 weeks already? Since last month we've had a broken main next to the blocked drain. That was fixed a couple of days after reporting it (though the remetalling is shockingly bad). But still the drain is blocked. At this rate, it'll get listed.

My, four weeks flies past. We've now seen lightening, heard the thunder and felt the rain - flow straight over the blocked drain. Gardens looking nice, though. Am I becoming a blogger with one topic?

Hello again. Been on holiday since last month. V nice, thank you. No change on my return, however. Drain still blocked. As there's very little rain around, this is not a problem. Until the next time...

Easter's come and gone. The royal wedding was fun. Bank holidays over until the end of the month. A sense of constancy is with us. Including the constantly blocked drain.

Well, Valentine's Day is coming up. Hope everyone enjoys it. It's now 63 weeks since this blockage was first reported. Hey ho. If anyone is reading this, would you mind posting the blocked drain as well? Perhaps you will have more luck than me. Bye for now.

Happy New Year. Walked past the drain this morning in the rain. The rain was merrily making its way over the drain and continuing its path down the road. This has become a drain blog. Wonder if I'll still be writing it in 2012.

Happy Christmas everyone. Nope, still hasn't been fixed. Still the same simple solution. suspend the bay for a couple of hours. Not holding my breath. On the plus side, the bin and recycling people have been doing great work even in the freezing weather. OK, that doesn't unblock drains but even so...

November and the heavens have opened several times, the rains poured – and poured straight over the blocked drain. Seems that council people do not read this or, if they do, do not have the gumption to suspend that parking place for a few hours to get the job done.

About three weeks ago the drain unblocking machine came to the square and sucked out all the detritus from all the drains - apart from the one that is blocked. A car was parked over it. As suggested a long, long time ago, why not just suspend the bay for a few hours?

42 weeks in, the drain is still blocked. At least the council has now abandoned installing cycle racks after residents objected. Stongly.

End of August. No change. The council does, however, want to spend a huge amount of money installing cycle racks in the square by getting rid of two parking spaces. Madness.
