SDC RESPONSE: &quot;I have conducted a vehicle inspection and from this I do not deem the vehicle to be abandoned. Shepway District Council only has the authority to remove vehicles under the Refuse Disposal (Amenity) Act 1978. It is the DVLA's responsiblity to enforce the removal of untaxed vehicles from the public highway. The DVLA are conducting a joint opertaion with Kent Police known as Operation CUBIT which targets untaxed vehicles in Shepway next week.
