Tenant from 84 has disappeared for the last 3 months or so. Been told by neighbours that he's left the country and have reported this to the council which of course they've done nothing about. Now some of the undesirables AKA the druggies have noticed it empty as never any lights on and bathroom window is broken with handle exposed. They were trying to get in but stopped when they saw me. No point calling the police as they won't do anything - in fact when my partner was bitten by a dog they didn't even come out so best not bother them We don't want squatters in there but you can't force the council to do something if they can't be bothered.

Offensive Light Pollution, 29th January

I live next to the Eva Armsby Centre (Glamis Road) on Cable Street and for the past few weeks have suffered with terrible insomnia as a result of the new lighting which they have installed over their car park. Unfortunately even black-out blinds do not prevent the light keeping me awake at night, as it is so bright that even a glint of it lights up my bedroom. From an environmental perspective, this lighting is a travesty for nocturnal species and surely goes against the borough's own aims to increase biodiversity and comply with the Millennium Ecosystems Assessment guidelines. It is my understanding, that even though our leaseholder representative has spoken with the Eva Armsby Centre, they have refused to simply be neighbourly and have ordered a full Environmental Impact Assessment at the expense of the council tax payer. Clearly this is obscene waste of money when the simple solution would be to fit sensors to turn the lights on as necessary of a night time. FYI the centre is locked and empty by around 7pm every day, so nobody that I have spoken with can understand why they are being so very unreasonable. Many thanks in advance for your assistance.

Eva Armsby Centre has installed new security lighting across the back of the building. This is very bright and consists of at least 10 very powerful floodlights. It is a terrible waste of electricty as they are left on all night every night. The light is so powerful it lights up my bedroom at night even when I close my curtains.

Noisy manhole cover, 27th January

There is a loose manhole cover directly outside a large apartment block. This is a busy road and the cover bangs very loudly everytime it is driven over, keeping people awake at night.

Motorbikes parked on pavement, 27th January

Due Sardi, the new Italian takeaway, park their delivery motorbikes on the pavement all time, blocking it and making it dangerous for passing pedestrians when they arrive and leave.

The loose manhole, 25th January

The manhole was not properly placed, when cars running through it, it makes enormous noise, we have been surfering for a long time, and it is getting worse and worse. It could also be a safety issue.This noise happenes every seconds, it drives us crazy...please sort it out as soon as possible.Thank you very much!

Line Markings Disappeared - Dangerous!, 22nd January

The line markings for the cycle zone on Greenwood Road - which is one-way to vehicles, but two-way to cycles - has all but disappeared. Twice just in this week, I have experienced abusive and aggressive drivers shouting and gesturing me, driving dangerously close past me (and one stopped and got out of his car to challenge me) whilst I am legitimately cycling up this street, I guess, because they can't see the cycle line markings. This is dangerous! I last reported this on 27 November 2009 (2 months ago) and have received no response from Hackney. I would really appreciate a response! Thanks!

Dog barking, 20th January

Dog left in flat all day barking from 9am to past 5pm and then from 8pm till 11.30pm. This is coming from 85 Harpley Square is every day. Non stop. Council of course doing nothing about it.

Lighting Columns 10 & 11 have been intermittent for more than a month. It now appears that 11 has failed completely and 10 is more OFF than ON now.

Foxes, 12th January

There are foxes living in one of the unoccupied gardens in this block. They make noises in the night when they are mating. They foul the gardens. They uproot vegetables and destroy expensive garden plants. They go through our rubbish making a mess. They are in short a complete nuisance. Something needs to be done about this soon as this has been going on for months and is a total pain.

As a result of the failure to grit (etc) the pavements in my neighbourhood, the entire length of Branch Rd and Ratciffe Ln is covered in highly polished ice. the route is used by 100s of commuters every day. people are falling over. please clear the ice and then grit the pavements.

Noise disturbance from loose mains cover on Dalston Lane! , 28th December

A loose water mains cover on Dalston Lane (at top of Greenwood Rd) that makes a v loud and disturbing noise when driven over by every vehicle on that side of road. Previously reported in Summer, (fixed), then reported at beginning of December and still not fixed. It is very disturbing and makes it difficult to sleep. Please could this be permanently fixed urgently. Disappointed that no response since reported at beginning of December. Thank you.

Blocked Drain, 19th December

There is a drain on the south side between the Golden Heart pub and Rosa's cafe that is regularly blocked. The water then collects in a pool, usually 4x5m in area. Pedestrians are sprayed by cars coming past. Water smells. Would really appreciate it being fixed. Thanks!
