This area is continually littered with rubbish bags. We have attempted to find out who is responsible, but believe it is 36 Danbury st. Many thanks.

Whitechapel Market blocking road, 13th March

I find it difficult to move around Whitechapel because of the market and the fact that the traders and their customers keep on blocking the roads. I have heard similar complaints from other people as well.

Uneven paving, 12th March

The length of Fieldgate Street and in fact the general surrounding area is rife with uneven paving slabs.

The paving moves underfoot and sticks up in places. Myself and my family/friends have tripped numberous times: One accident resulted in an injury causing permanent damage to my mum's knee which will require surgery!

This dangerous paving combined with navigating the continual fly tipping, recycling bin bags left in the street (as there are no recycling bins in some of the streets, namely Myrdle street) and overfilled rubbish bins makes for a very unpleasant and hazardous walk.

I look forward to your response,

Kate Locke

Graffiti on war memorial, 12th March

There is gang-related graffiti on the sculpture in the war memorial gardens. This is not only unsightly but also promotes gang tensions in the area.

Unsightly Shutters, 11th March

I was in the park at Radnor Street with my family at the weekend, we are new to the area and think the area is really well kept, but I cannot belive that on what looks like a new building on Lizard Street backing onto the park the developers have been allowed to put up roller shutters they stick out like a sore thumb, it really is quite an eyesore on such a nice looking building. There also seemed to be an issue with a lot of people using the park as a dogs 'toilet area' and not cleaning up after their pets, not pleasant for the children (including my own) playing in the park.

Metal sign on pole, 9th March

A new, large Humps directional sign has slipped down the pole, becoming hazardous to pedestrians; in fact, someone has turned it so that it's now parallel to the road, and no longer serving its purpose. Personally I can't see the necessity of this and its matching sign on the opposite side of the road facing the other direction. It seems a good example of superfluous signage. I can't see why humps are signposted at all, since they are so ubiquitous on back and side streets, which everyone knows.

Dangerously uneven roadway at entrance/exit to Cemex works, 5th March

TfL relocated the pedestrian crossing at the junction of The Highway and Butcher Row last year. Although this was probably done with good intentions, it has created another problem.

Pedestrians now have to walk past the Cemex works on Butcher Row to reach the lights. The entrance/exit road to the plant is dangerously uneven and potholed.

It also floods after small amounts of rain, which makes the trip hazard worse and forces pedestrians to walk onto the carriageway of Butcher Row to avoid the massive puddles, which is clearly very dangerous.

I reported this to TfL last year. Despite chasing them with multiple phone calls and emails the best they have done is send somebody out to inspect the site. However, there appears to have been no follow-up after this inspection and the problem is just as bad as it always was.

It's just a matter of time before somebody trips and breaks a bone or is killed by a vehicle after being forced onto the main road to avoid the puddles.
