Cycle lane needs repainting, 2nd July

The cycle lane along this road for approx 400metres is so worn that cars no longer see it and cyclilsts no longer have any room.
A new coat of green paint would make this strip of road a lot safer for cyclists.

Dangerous cyclists, 1st July

The road is currently down to one lane at the lights near the Cathedral. As usual the cyclists are jumping the red lights at this junction endangering pedestrians - but they're now also going around the traffic island on the wrong side at the same time. Pedestrians beware!

Hazardous obstructions on footway, 30th June

Parking posts (folding bollards) have been installed recently on this property and form a trip hazard. The posts are a similar colour to the footway paving and - when unlocked - lay prone and can block the footway. They require adjustment to prevent blockage of footway and the addition of manifestation for the benefit of visually impaired pedestrians. Or they should be removed.

Britton St used as a race track by Post Office vans, 29th June

Unlike almost every other road user on Britton Street, the drivers of Post Office vans race their vehicles down this street as fast as they can. By the time they're approaching the end of the street they're clearly breaking the speed limit and the noise generated by their diesel vans accelerating down the street is extremely disturbing. Ultimately, the reckless way their vans are driven through Britton St is dangerous.

Footway blocked by Tesco pallets, 27th June

If you need to walk along Bateman's Row and NOT step into the busy cycle lane (particularly important if you are visually impaired, mobility impaired or a wheelchair user) it is impossible because TESCO repeatedly uses the footway as a storage yard for pallets. Has TESCO been given permission to do this, I wonder? Also, footway on opposite side of Bateman's Row is in poor state of repair.

Speeding and Road Surface, 24th June

The junction connecting Victoria Park Road with Mare Street would benefit enormously from chicane-style traffic calming (*not* speed bumps - see below re noise). At the moment lorries - which shouldn't be on VPR anyway - race down towards the lights in order to get round before a red.

There is also a very real problem from the many bumps and potholes in the road. Because so many lorries use VPR the noise of banging and crashing is ridiculous. There should be strict enforcement of time restructions for lorries on VPR - none after 10pm and none before 7am.

A dip in the pavement, 17th June

I am reporting this as a problem as I witnessed an elderly gentleman fall over this morning because of the uneven surface in the pavement. He was unhurt, but could have potentially hit is head on the brick wall, which is why i believe the pavement should be sorted out before anything more serious happens.
The uneven pavement surface is located outside the Urdang dance school at Finsbury town hall. the uneven surface runs along the front of this building, i have attached a picture.
thank you for your time :)

Sponsored Graffiti. Who's bright idea was this?, 16th June

On Saturday 6th June a sponsored Graffiti 'event' took place on Bethnal Green Road. After the event the whole area (Chance St, Redchurch,Old Nichol, Club Row etc.) was tagged by people not satisfied with the hoardings they had been allowed to paint. Every resident I have spoken to seems either to be incensed by this action by the council (and Tesco's) or have had their property defaced. Now is the time to clean this area up. I am at a loss for words as to why the council thought this was a good idea. DON'T DO IT AGAIN.

Loose utilities access cover, 14th June

Just in front of the old Guardian building on the road. This problem was rectified about a year ago but became loose again 5 days ago. I think it's a cable wireless but not sure. It's a really busy road with heavy duty trucks going up and down to Kings Cross, and the noise the loose cover makes when it's driven over is really loud and clunky.

Constant Road works, 12th June

I changed jobs in January and so for the past 6 months I have commuted along this street by foot or bike. There has been barely a day when this street has not had somebody digging up the road, for the water mains, for telcomms and so on. You can see that this street is now a patchwork quilt of road works. Why can't these be co-ordinated for one single period of dispruption (and noise) and then one new surface for the whole road?

Poor road markings = buses ignore right of way, 12th June

The turning at the junction gives right of way to buses or cyclists who are heading east then south at this junction. However, the road markings are almost invisibly and as a result buses will frequently ignore the right of way that they are crossing when driving into Liverpool Street station. Please improve the road markings before there is an accident.
