Waverley Borough Council
New problems
- Water leak (sent to both)
Water has been leaking here for about a week at least. It is getting worse and looks now as more than a bath tap full on all the time. - Addressing persistent littering in Gostrey Meadow
The council does a great job in looking after Gostrey Meadow. However, its efforts are undermined by the persistent littering of groups of teenagers who meet there especially on summer afternoons and who will not use the bins provided only a few feet away. Does the Council have powers to impose fines on this selfish minority who wreck what is a lovely space for the law-abiding majority? There must be consequences for such behaviour. Thank you. - Car Parked On Double Yellows
There is a car that parks on double yellows on this road just after the junction with Newcome road, it makes turning right out of Newcome Road very difficult as you cant see to the left because of it and traffic approaches very fast from the right - Shopping Trolley
Sainsburys shopping trolley dumped in river by the bridge.
Older problems
- Redundant litter bin holder
Located at the top of Old Frensham Road, by the Bourne Recreation ground are a salt bin, green wheely bin, and a device for holding the litter bin (possibly). Is this holder still needed? It comes with ugly old bits of concrete which need to be moved (but not by vandals!) Could you tidy this area up, please? - Dumped oil drums
See previous note. purple pin now in correct position - Dumped oil drums
TWO LARGE OIL DRUMS MARKED "QUANTUM" DUMPED ON WEST SIDE OF OLD FRENSHAM ROAD AT END OF TRACK. APPEAR TO BE FULL. COULD BE WASTE OIL. PROBABLY VERY HEAVY. Note: I cannot locate the flag on the correct side of road. - Blocked sightline (sent to both)
Bush/tree on corner blockes sightline of traffic entering/leaving Oaklands. - Unsightly rubbish
Reported last year and, unfortunately, the situation hasn't improved. Rubbish outside 26 Barnett Close. Owner of no 25 is trying to sell - not surprisingly with no success. - Broken/missing drain cover (sent to both)
This has now been awaiting action for weeks. Since you have been informed, more than once, I would expect vehicle damage to result in claims. - Shrubs close to roadside
Please can the shrubery/brambles on the left hand side be cut back as the road is quite narrow & i am constantly getting the side of mycar scratched by said shrubs - i think this might be National Trust Land?
Old problems, state unknown
- Blocked sightline (sent to both)
Bush/tree on corner blockes sightline of traffic entering/leaving Oaklands. - Dangerous Parking
This is a continuing problem. Cars are parking on the corner of York Road where it bends to meet Morley Road. This is a blind corner and reduces York Road to one lane width only. Drivers cannot see cars coming towards them. There have been several near misses. It is an accident waiting to happen. Parking should not be allowed on this corner. - Flytipping
Tyres etc dumped in the drain. - North Downs Way sign (sent to both)
The pictorial sign for the North Downs Way has fallen down. - Rubbish
Please could you clear up the tins and bottles from this corner. Thank you. - Graffiti
The underpass is covered in graffiti - Persistant Water flowing onto road (sent to both)
On the B3001 Farnham road between the Donkey Pub and Seale Road there are a couple of places where water frequently seeps/flows onto the road (on the side driven from the Donkey towards Elstead). This is always dangerous in the recent cold weather and I skidded on this just recently when there was no other wetness on the road. It is also helping to break up the road surface here. Some better drainage is needed to stop the water coming off the hill (or wherever it is coming from) and keeping it off the road surface - Rubbish
This corner needs a clear up. - Litter on the green
There is a considerable amount of general litter which needs removing from the green and the parking area at the end of the cul-de-sac. - Drain Blocked - Intersection of Rutton Hill Road and French Lane (sent to both)
This drain is blocked and causes serious problems to traffic. It requires unblocking. - School crossing warning (sent to both)
The school warning flashing lights flash at the wrong time of day - notably around 7PM - Snow Clearing/gritting/rubbish (sent to both)
Lower Hanger and Hatchets Drive have not been gritted or Snow ploughed at all. We all need to get to work, we all pay our Comunity charges. Please treat all roads and areas the same. Also it has now been nearly 6 weeks since the last rubbish collection. I hope under health and safety this will all be removed soon - Overhanging Trees (sent to both)
The trees outside No. 52 are blocking the streetlight and now the path as they hang down to about 4-foot from the ground, knocked on there door and the man was just abusive and told us to just walk in the 'effing' road. There is no path on the other side. - Fence possibly built on Highway Land (sent to both)
A fence has been erected at this point outside the boundary line indicated by the adjacent hedges. It prevents pedestrians from taking refuge on the verge in emergencies where the road is narrow and on a bend. It could also cause damage to a vehicle taking avoiding action. I have noted this from time to time as a potential risk when approaching a tricky bend. - Road drain blocked (sent to both)
The drain on the west side of Lion Lane where it meets Wey Hill is blocked. This leads to a very large puddle forming at the junction when it rains and for a couple of days afterwards. - Flood caused by blocked land drains (sent to both)
Mavins Road has a flood fully across the road caused by blocked land drains. This problem has been reported by others but no action has been taken in over 2 weeks. - Trees need pollarding
S.C.C. used to pollard the trees in St Nicolas Avenue every 3 years. They have not been done now for over 9 years and the tree outside our house is growing very large. Trees in other roads in the village have been pollarded so why has St Nicolas Avenue been missed? All the trees in this road are in need of pollarding as school coaches use the road twice daily and traffic congestion is causing the buses to drive on the grass verges where they are in danger of hitting the trees. - Over enthusiastic weed killing (sent to both)
In Shortheath Crest the weeds have been sprayed all along the edge of my lawn (& my neighbours)leaving behind a strip of dying grass. I have only just seeded this area . It is obviously well cared for & there was no need for my house to be done at all. Perhaps the gentleman worker could be asked to use his common sense & only spray the gutter, where incidently the weeds are currently flourishing. - Graffiti around this area
There is graffiti around this area (pin is indicative), on a green cabinet, on the walls of the road tunnel under the railway line, on a black lamp- post and on a white footpath direction sign. Can this all be cleaned ? - Cars parked on green
The green area in Stoke Hills is repeatedly used by people working in the town centre as a free parking area. Apart from looking awful it prevents children from playing on the green and makes it very muddy and destroys the grass. I suggest either create some proper parking facilities on the green as you have done in the past or stop the parking alltogether. - Leaking water pipe (sent to both)
On the entrance to the corner property, there is a leaking water pipe which is flowing down the hill permanently - possibly occurred when the entrance to the property relaid. - Haste Hill Name Plate/Fencing
The Haste Hill nameplate has been hit by a vehicle and knocked over. The metal rail fencing by the nameplate has also been knocked over. - Haste Hill Name Plate/Fencing
The Haste Hill nameplate has been hit by a vehicle and knocked over. The metal rail fencing by the nameplate has also been knocked over. - Regular dumping of rubble
Over the past few months several lorry loads of rubble and concrete have been dumped here - Parking
Hare Lane is a nightmare for parking most cars down the road show no consideration for road signs and safety. Parking in front of drop kerbs parking on the pavement so if you have children you have to walk into the road with traffic coming towards you. The Parking restrictions are not enforced, ( so whats the point of having them) drivers parking in the private road in hare lane which has a big hash box with the words private road in front but other residents of hare lane seem to think its there god given right to park where they like ie in front of peoples driveways. - Street sign
Reported graffiti on public bridleway sign. Thank you,for promptly cleaning off graffiti, but all paint now smudged, public bridleway now reads-"pubic"! - Obscene graffiti
Obscene graffiti on bridleway sign Fernhill Lane junction Upper Hale Road - Bus stop filthy
Rubbish overgrown bushes broken pavement - Collections Not Suffiecient for Residents
Dollis Drive is a road housing lots of students, and the twice weekly refuse collection cannot keep up with these 5-bedroom (possibly more inhabitants?) roads. The smell is going to be a worry now that it's getting warmer. More bins for the road (a communal bin in the flats car park?) would be fantastic. - Overgrown Bushes
Overgrown Trees and bushes down Kimbers Lane, blocking rear gate exits from Dollis Drive properties. - Sundry rubbish and dead(?) car
In the front garden of 26 Barnett Close there is sundry rubbish - black plastic bags, an old sofa, etc. There's also a car that appears not to have been moved for some time. This hardly adds to the amenity of the area. Could these be removed - or the occupant persuaded to clear the site? - Dangerous parking
Cars constantly park on the brow of Upper Manor Road, which is a hill. This makes it impossible for drivers to see down the hill, which they are overtaking parked cars. It is also very difficult to turn into or out or Shadyhanger. There is a 'keep clear' sign, but this is is either ignored or people just avoid parking on the writing without giving thought as the why the sign is there. - Water (sent to both)
A blind gentleman has a problem when he walks outside his flat he goes ankle deep into water which rises quite a bit when raining, it forms a stream right across the path outside his flat i will give you my name and contact details it has been reported to the waverley borough council for years also the parish council to see if they can help , after the snow it was awful, regards Joy Perry re Mr David Timms 15 newbridge court, elmbridge rd, cranleigh, surrey. - Dog fouling.
There is so much dog mess on the grass verges in front or the houses by the recreation ground and also on the recreation ground.I won't take my 3 year old down there any more which is a shame as that is what the area is for.I myself am a dog own but a reponsible one!!! - Car parking by Farncombe post office
There are almost always vehicles parked during weekdays outside the post office; I think it is double yellow lines there but I'm not absolutely sure. I feel it is getting worse lately. The parking restrictions appear not to be enforced at all, and it creates a mess to try to get past. People wanting to turn onto Station Road when the level crossing gates are shut often drive up the wrong side of the road past the queue of waiting vehicles, I don't know if this is legitimate or not but it happens and is made more hazardous if they are passing a number of parked vehicles as well as a queue of cars waiting for the crossing gates to open. - Sunken manhole covers (sent to both)
Several manhole covers have sunk. They are all in line with the offside wheels and cause violent jolts. - Potholes in road (not sent to council)
After the recent wet weather there are now many dangerous potholes appearing in Old Barn Lane, Churt. Up until recently you could negotiate around these holes but that is becoming increasingly difficult as more appear. - Flytipping Churt (not sent to council)
Carrier bags full of used cans were dumped by the electricity sub station. I have cleared them up but want to make sure that this flytipping incident is recorded in Waverley and Churt records. - Fridge dumped by road
There is an old fridge dumped by the side of the road next to the entrance to the water pumping station on the sliproad to the A3, please can it be removed. - Dog poo
Someone always allows their dog to poo on the main path to the local school.... - Dangerous corner (sent to both)
Turning right into Sandrock from the Wey Hill end of Lower St is a traffic accident waiting to happen. If there was a mirror so you could see vehicles coming round the corner, it would be much safer. It is also very dangerous as a lot of cars go much faster than 30mph here. If an accident does happen, the passenger would be mincemeat. - Litter problem & chewing gum
We live in this road, and we are always picking litter out of our front garden everyday. Despite several bins outside the school, and shop, litter is contantly dropped, and stuffed in hedges. There also seems to be a chweing gum issue. Alot of gum on the pavements. Many thanks - Car dumped outside my house
Hi there is a car that has been dumped outside my house [edited for privacy - details sent to council] reg number H95 GJN it has no road tax and has a note stating it can be purchased for spare parts or banger racing! there limited parking spaces in my road... please help! - Litter and chewing gum (sent to both)
Please note that the schools have only been back 2 weeks and there is already alot of chewing gum and litter all over the pavements and road in Hale Reeds. - Tree down on railway line fence
A tree has brought down the fence separating the railway line from the footpath running from Damson Cottage GU27 1AN to Lower Park Farm, and children and animals could stray on to the railway line from the footpath. - Over Hanging Shrubbery
The hedges along the rad are very over-grown meaning that pedestrians have to walk in the road. - Graffiti
Graffiti on the wall of the alley opposite the rear door of the primary school - Whoe getting ripped off again
Alternate waste collection facilities does not happen at bank holidays due to the councils rolling collection program in our street we get missed completely thus pushing the collection out o three weeks over the last decade or so this has happend at least twice a year and some times three times a year but we still have to pay the same the financial gain to the local authority is considerable so who's making the money out of this the council or the collection company - Horse grazing on green (sent to both)
There is a horse grazing on Aarons hill green belonging to one of the residents oppposite. The horse fouls the green and surrounding roads. I was not aware that anyone could just let their horse graze where they liked. This should be in a provate field not on public land maintained by council tax payers. There are also several large vehicles parked on the verge opposite the owners house which are creating an eyesore. - Litter often dumped (sent to both)
Along Polecat Hill/ Upper Lion Lane, there is always litter along the sides of the road. It is particularly bad around the layby (marked on map)where people tend to dump it by the bag load! I have seen tyres, bin bags and a shopping trolley dumped there before. - Pot holes (sent to both)
There are some large potholes on Pole Cat Hill / Lion Lane past Cherry Tree Avenue going up towords Hindhead. Some of them are very large. - Traffic light sensors inadequate (sent to both)
Lights are triggered by cars and larger vehicles waiting at junction but can not be triggered by bicycles. Cyclists have to wait for a car to come along. - Big pothole (sent to both)
Big pothole in road causing cyclists on school runs to swerve out across road. Probably caused by gas main work, but stretches all way across road. Seen many kids swerve into oncomming traffic to avoid it with a couple of near misses. - Dog poo (sent to both)
The grass either side of the path is used as a dog toilet by locals. It has 'a lot' of dog poo and when the grass is cut even more dog poo. Please catch them and fine them. - Potholes in road (sent to both)

The alley ways leading from both ends of Stoke Hills through to East Street are both horrid - lots of rude graffiti, 3 or 4 shopping trolleys and lots of rubbish has been dumped, broken fence panels and generally it is a right mess. On the A287 at the intersection marked, approaching the traffic lights from Camelsdale going towards Hindhead - there is a pothole in the road on the left hand side. It has been in an awful state for at least two months and must have caused damage to a number of vehicles in the time it has been there, including mine (£200 repair bill for a new tyre). I don't understand why this hasn't been fixed as it is a section of road that is heavily used and it is a very deep pothole.
