Graffiti in beach area, 9th July

Graffiti has appeared once more on one of the shelters next to the sea wall here, on a nearby brick wall (to the right as you look at the graffitied shelter), and also on two of the breakwaters on the beach itself. Very unpleasant.

Flytipping and waste left by litter bins, 2nd July

Full black bin bags, old carpet and other flytipping has been left next to both the litter bins in this area (footpath where it crosses Cromwell Road). It has been there for some time as, obviously, the guys who empty the bins don't remove it.

Dumping in Post Office car park, Whitstable, 22nd May

A substantial amount of waste has been dumped/flytipped in the corner of the public car park outside the Post Office in Whitstable. This includes a TV set, wooden furniture and various other bits of litter. This area is a constant problem, with many of our glorious fellow citizens treating it as a handy local landfill site. PLEASE can the area be cleaned up, and something done to prevent this problem re-occurring? Perhaps re-landscaping that particular bit of ground might help.

This is the second time in the past 18 months that we've had graffiti spryed on our gate and wall facing Market Way, I reported the first incidance to the police, and spent a long time and substancial amount of money to clean and repaint the gate.

Potholes as deep as the Channel Tunnel, 15th March

Too Numerous to list in full but drive any of the local roads ie A28 from Sarre to Canterbury, Kent Avenue & Warwick Road, Mickleburgh Hill, Beltinge Road, Sea Street, Canterbury Road (Herne Bay), Sweechgate, Shalloak Road, Broad Oak Road, Vauxhall Road, Kingmead, Wincheap, High Street (Herne Bay), Central Parade, Hampton Pier Avenue, Moat Lane, Stodmarsh Road, Seasalter Road, Head Hill Road, Spring Lane, Whitstable Road, ........ (I could go on for hours !!!)

Don't tell me that there isn't any money - use our money properly (especially the salaries from our useless fat cat county leaders, sitting in their ivory tower lining their own fat bellies with our money) to fill in some of the thousands of potholes in the Canterbury City Council district.

I am tempted to use the same tactic as I recently heard and carry a can of fluorescent spray paint to highlight all the potholes in this district but I don't even think shaming this council to action will work.

It is certainly getting worse under the control of Kent Cr*ppy Council.

For example: How can three potholes by the Grove Ferry turning on the A28 have been there for over three months without being filled in - this is an A road. How can the road be collapsing just past the Grove Ferry turning by the first and second set of islands and not be repaired - again a highly used A road. How can Kent Avenue & Warwick Road have at least 100 potholes of at least 1 sq ft and not see some form of repairs - a side road.

But from Herne village to Calcott Hill is being totally re-surfaced - why ? It was a poor surface nowhere near as bad as some of the roads detailed above. To any sane person its p poor management by p poor managers.

The KCC roads division management is not working and should be sacked. Employ suitable managers who will work - give it back to CCC it was never good but it was a darn site better.

Poor supevision of contractors, 13rd March

For two days now I have been prevented from accessing my property due to contactors blocking the road. When requested to move they have been rude, abusive and difficult.

I have yet to see any supervision of this site by Highways staff.

In addition, the materials used are not those required by Canterbury Council on an adjacent development in the Conservation Area. Why is there on rule for County Highway works and one for others...?

Answers please. I am considering a complaint to the Ombudsman, as I can see little hope or concern to date. How can we be barred from entering our own home in this attrocious manner..?

Flower beds full of rubbish and weeds, 8th March

The flower beds are full of rubbish and weeds. A layer of chippings was last put over the last set of weeds, but really has made no difference. The Glass collection skips are surrounded by broken glass. Generally unkempt; the area is new 4 years ago!
