New problems to Brighton & Hove Council on FixMyStreet

Cycle-lane obstruction, 5th July

Daily the local shops obstruct the cycle-lane on both sides of the road. Being the 'academic corridor' and a major commuter route this is extremely dangerous. The Police do nothing and the NCP people visit less than once a day. Home-fit tyres, Al-amin, the furnature shop, the Pharmacy, the off licence, even the church and the scout group all refuse to use the side roads.

No Entry Signs, 2nd July

Both the no entry signs to Cross Street have been covered in stickers and grafitti.

Abandoned Van in Alley behind Millers Road, 2nd July

Abandoned rainbow coloured VW camper van in alley that runs parallel to Miller's Road Brighton. Says 'Steven Garbett Funmobile' in brown paint (?) along side of van.

Fly tipping - small skip load, 28th June

A small skip load of various rubbish, builders, commercial and possibly domestic ahs been dumped outside the back door of the vacant camping store. This is next to the "lavish" night club

BT Phone box, 28th June

On the seafront by the Brunswick Sq. entrance the BT telephone box has very large blue grafitti scrawled over one side of it.

Broken Pedal on Bin, 23rd June

For the less able this bin is now very difficult to use as the pedal that opens the lid does not work.

British Telecom Box, 23rd June

This box is again covered in grafitti and tags are now appearing on the wall at the side of it.

Car with no tax?, 20th June

Black car tax disc face down been there a few weeks not moved ELZ905

Communal Bin, 18th June

Despite requests to have this bin fixed in place to the road it continues to be placed on the pavement blocking pedestrians. It is also smelly and broken. The pedal to open the bin does not work

Street Light, 17th June

This is the only street light in Little Western Street Hove. 5 New houses have been built adjacent to it. It is lit during the daytime and is angled to fall over. A strong wind or person could topple it easily.

Empty house, 8th June

87 Chester Terrace is an empty house and has been uninhabited for more than a dozen years. The only residents are foxes that live in the overgrown back garden. Please will the council take urgent steps to make sure it is occupied before the end of this year?

Replacement recycling boxes and garden/building rubbish, 4th June

Hi, one of my black recycling boxes has gone awol. Is there any way that we can get more boxes? Also the lids keep vanishing, perhaps a hinged lid would be better, or one which can be clipped on in some way? Also the local rercycling point at the Hanover Community centre is great, but I think it needs advertising, and also to have a cardboard collection point. Also is there anyway that we can dispose of garden or building rubbish? Very expensive or impossible withoput a car. Many thanks!

Paint on road, 27th May

Some weeks ago, someone spilled paint on the road outside 12 Western Street, which trickled down as far as the Embassy Court. This was reported to the council and case No. 61241 was given, but as yet the paint has not been removed. To be fair, there are usually cars parked which could make cleaning difficult, but there must be a way around it. Thank you so much and shame on the person who did this without cleaning it up. I believe it is water based. I have also reported graffiti on the communal bins outside the Embassy Court, but that has not been removed either.

Dymped flat contents and fly tipping, 26th May

A load of items have been dumped by the top front flat occupents of 25 Bedford Square. It will require a van to remove it and an enforcement notice sent.

Dumped arm chair & builders rubbish, 21st May

An old arm chair has been dumped on the pavement outside number 27. Builders rubbish dumped outside number 21 Rubbish is hanging on the railings of numerous houses (12/15/16). Letters need to be resent to the managing agents to reinforce action.

Causing vehicles to swerve into the wrong side of the road.

Dog fouling, 18th May

We have a dog in the area that thinks the footpath called Jenners Gap [now nicked name poo!Lane] is it's private toilet. I belive you have sent out letters to, two neighbours that have been seen using the footpath for the same. The dog fouling stopped for a while, but it has started up again. We have no evidence that it is the same family.We have come back to you for help

Rubbish left in street , 17th May

Many bags of rubbish left outside the door of 33 Bute Street today (bin men came yesterday). Rubbish bags already being attacked by birds or foxes and contents spread on street.
