New problems to Bedfordshire County Council on FixMyStreet

Daily cycling on the pavement, 3rd July

Every morning and evening lots of people - both school children and adults - cycle on the pavement on the bridge and surrounding area. Some cycle very fast and I have witnessed a number of near misses with pedestrians. This has been going on for well over a year since I moved to the area and the number of people who correctly cycle on the road are very much in the minority. It would be great if the council could liaise with the police to try and solve this matter. On a related note, almost nobody I see cycles with a helmet which would explain a reluctance to cycle on the road. For the kids in particular a special assembly would seem to be in order.

Broken/uneven surface in unlit area, 1st July

The surface of the footpath (jitty) between Weathercock Lane and Station Road is degraded along much of its length and in places is broken across its whole width. This has been a significant hazard for at least 3 years - I have myself stumbled several times (usually in winter when it's dark)

Large surface damage on New Road, 15th June

It appears that the initial damage to the road surface has been exacerbated by heavily loaded lorries entering and leaving Sandy Quarry. Originally it was quite a small pothole, I think it's growing, so swift action would be appreciated. It has also started to fragment, which would mean broken windscreens or other vehicular damage if not dealt with soon. Many Thanks

Bad Pothole, 8th June

Very bad 'Pothole' around the drain underneath Cow Bridge; currently has bollards on top of it and causes hold ups in the traffic if two large vehicles are trying to pass.

Green car in car park. Abandoned, windows smashed and vandalised. Tax Out Of Date.

Dangerous junction, 23rd May

There are regular accidents at this corner as vehicles travelling fast on the B1042 between Cambridge and Biggleswade overtake turning cars at this junction. My wife was recently in such an accident. We need either a speed limit on the B1042, or a traffic bollard to stop vehicles overtaking at this junction. The parish council has asked for it for years, but it's not been done. Recently an extra electronic speed sign has been erected in Wrestlingworth, but that's at the wrong place.

Dangerous Parking, 21st May

Cars often parking on the corner of Dorsey Drive and Ellington Road; reducing visibility. Have had several near misses whilst trying to negotiate illegally parked cars. Problem exists throughout the estate particularly on this junction and the juction with Goodman Road.

Pothole in the grass, 14th May

There is a giant pothole in the grass which is quite dangerous. it is concealed a bit as the grass has sort of grown and someone has put cones round it. someone may trip over so could this be fixed this week sometime

Potholes / Uneven Road Surface, 7th May

There are many dangerous undulations in the northern-end of Putnoe Lane and these are likely to cause vehicles to go out of control. Please assure me that works are planned to remedy these?

Bollard Comin Out Of The Ground, 29th April

The Bollard On the edge of the path has been hit by a vehicle and more and more bricks are coming out of the ground.

Green Box Damaged, 25th April

The Green Telephone/electric box has been damaged for a long time and is covered in graffiti. Also the other night it was broken open by a couple of youths. Can this be replaced?

Lighting, 21st April

Lighting outside flats and on stairs is not working at night and is on during the day.Cannot see the stairs at night and becoming dangerous returning home when dark.

Safety Barrier Bashed into Somehow!, 21st April

The Corner safety barrier on the edge of the path has somehow been knocked into and very wonky! Needs to be repaired as soon as possible. **THIS IS A GENUINE REPORT** Could it be looked at today?

Several Potholes, 16th April

Several potholes at the junction of icknield street and Burr Street are becoming more and more severe as the days go by. Road surface is breaking up and debris/stones are being thrown up by vehicles that travel too fast along Icknield street.

Dangerous holes!, 11th April

There are a series of seriously large potholes on this sharp bend. They are so bad that unless you drive a big 4WD you need to avoid them to avoid serious damage to wheels and or tyres! This means crossing the center white lines into the other Carriageway, witch in its self causes potential for a serious accident!... Please get them fixed. Thankyou
