Dangerous Road, 4th July

Is a very busy road with queing trffic at almost every minute of the day. i live on this road and have 3 children. very few of the houses on this street have off road parking so cars are parked up and down on the roadside making visibility when crossing almost impossible. I have a young family and i know that there are lots of other people cross this road and it is very dangerous. there is a speed camera further up the road but it is still a 40mph road. there have been many occasions where mine and other children have tried to cross and have had to jump out of the way as cars have been speeding up from the rounabout but because of the parked cars they couldnt see them. i think a pelican crossing is needed as soon as possible on this road before someone gets killed.

Sweeping, 11th June

Although the sweeper does sweep the western side of Cockerham Lane, because there is no footway between Huddersfield Road and Lombard Close and because of parked cars between the hours of 07.15 and on many days 22.00 hours, much debris is never removed. This applies particularly to the stretch of Cockerham Lane from the junction with Huddersfield Road and lighting standard No.2 where the main sweeper is unable to get close to the boundary wall of local properties. I have reported this matter before but no action has so far been taken.

Fence, 9th June

The fence that joins onto wharncliffe industrial estate is being climbed over and used as a short cut by kids. This is very dangerous due to a drop on one side.
Solution:
Higher the fence or place something om top to stop it happening and put a fence at the other end to stop them going down there at all.

Thank You.

Tree House, 6th June

Children have arrived with hammer and nails and ladder rungs. They are nailing the rungs to the tree and creating a tree house on the tree marked with the flag. This area could do with locked gates similar to the Royston Park bowling area to protect the trees from further damage. They are also bashing the perimeter fencing with planks. If the council cannot control this area it should be closed.

Broken down fence , 2nd June

Yet again some kind person had kicked half of the wooden fence down at the end of Poulton Street that leads up the lane(public footpath)so they can get their motorbikes through. This problem has happened before and Barnsley council did fix it, why not put up a metal fence to try and stop this re-occuring.

Ignorant Drivers, 23rd May

Residents would like to see a box junction on Broadway in front of Daleswood Avenue, due to the ever increasing volume of traffic, so that we can get out safely. Also we would like to see double yellow lines painted on the flats side of Daleswood Avenue due to double parking making it impossible for large vehicles to pass. Residents from Dodworth Rd have taken to parking their 'for sale' cars or second cars here.

Rubbish in the bush area, 21st May

Hi
Could someone please do a general litter pick through the village. The bush areas particularly the one mentioned is full of plastic bottles, sweet wrappers etc and quite unsightly. We have just had the road resurfaced and it is making the village look much better but the rubbish could do with some attention.
Thanks

Build up of rubbish on this area, 20th May

Hi
The public house was recently demolished and the area has since been used for tipping rubbish and leaving alcohol bottles and cans around. I noticed this morning that the rubbish collector actually threw rubbish onto this area this morning which does not help the problem. I was at a loss as to why he did this as he has a bin on wheels to collect it in. Please can someone have a look to see if it can be cleaned away. Thanks

I am fed up with having my leasure time in my garden ruined by idiots being allowed to race around the grass area by the fishing canal on uninsured/licenced motor bikes. They race around the footpaths and cause an awful noise and are so dangerous to people trying to go out walking.
