The pool in Wellington Road is caused by a blocked drain outside Rowley Court, No. 32 Wellington Road. The picture shows the pavement after a vehicle has driven by.

Heavy rain yesterday resulted in a pool forming at the drain. Obviously the blockage has not been cleared. This is disappointing as I had seen a drain unblocking truck in a nearby street only a few days ago.

Drains that Council staff have unblocked recently in this area have been marked with a patch of yellow spray paint. No drains have been marked as cleared in northern Wellington Road .

Work has been undertaken on a main sewer in Wellington Road. The next heavy rain storm will reveal whether the blockage has been removed.

Heavy showers today produced the same large pool as usual. The recent work on the sewers in Wellington Road has made no difference.
