Noisy/loose drain cover

Sent to Tandridge District Council and Surrey County Council 3 minutes later

Drain cover immediately adjacent to housing in Jenny Lane Godstone Rd shops and The Square. Noise like pistol shot disturbs sleep and social enjoyment of properties inside and outside buildings every time a car passes.See also complaint of same problem on same drain run near Total Garage entry.

Had an email from SurreyCC Highways saying they have no resources for dealing with a problem which would not rate as a highway safety defect.So unless the cover collapses we are sentenced to sleep deprevation. Have moved bedrooms but it doesn't help.
