Large rainwater pool alongside pavement.

Sent to Enfield Borough Council 2 minutes later

During periods of heavy rain and snow, water collects in a large pool at the junction of Wellington Road and Private Road outside Rowley Court, 32 Wellington Road. The water should drain away along a gutter in Private Road but tree roots appear to have blocked this gutter. Sometimes vehicles are driven at speed along Wellington Road. When a speeding vehicle goes through the pool any person walking on the pavement there would be drenched by the spray of water thrown up. The gutter needs to be re-cut.

After the pool eventaully dried up it could be seen that there isd a drain outside No. 32. It is this drain that is blocked.

Until there is another period of heavy rain we will not know whether this blockage has been cleared.

A heavy shower some weeks ago caused the drain to flood the raodway for a short time. Presumably the drain is only partially blocked.

Over the past couple of weeks Wellington Road has been dug-up a little south of the blocked drain. It might be that this work related to the blockage. Only time will tell.

It was apparent in a recent downpour that the drain remains partially blocked. The pool forms during the downpour, but clears over the following few hours.

The flooding happens after heavy rain. Drain work has been done in Wellington Road, but it looks like Enfield Council has given up on this drain.
