Roads remain flooded

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 13:27, Sat 20 February 2010
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 3 minutes later

From 163-130 NEWBRIDGE HILL there is almost permanant pools of water, and mud along the road/kerbs on the south side.

Whilst cars are often parked within the pools there is often open access for repairing/clearing any blockages and cleaning the debris.

BANES have been notified but in over one year have done nothing to show any change in the problem.

24 3 10 With recent rains problem WORSE THAN EVER. Streams of muddy stagnant water running for long stretches of the southern side of NEWBRIDGE HILL, particularly the same addresses reported months ago. Also thick mud and debris alongside the same side of road made up of discarded refuse/old leaves/MUD.BANES done nothing to fix THIS street!

NOTHING been done to deal with this problem...more rain...more flooded road areas...more mud and debris left to block drains.

22 4 2010 Seems to be a small number of white lines and arrows painted along NEWBRIDGE HILL on road and pavement but as no rain for weeks cannot determine if such 'markings' have SOLVED the problems.

Expect they are some easy and cheap BANES 'solution' so am far from satisfied.

31 5 2010 With recent rain the problem is still very much evident. This has been reported and even acknowledged by BANES yet NOTHING has been done a year later and years since the problem arose. WHY?

Posted anonymously at 16:46, Wed 23 June 2010

same white lines around defects in road/pavements/guttering have been there for months but no discernible work carried out. Absence of rain has solved the problem temporarily but BANES staff should be ashamed for ignoring an ongoing problem for YEARS!!

EVERY TIME IT RAINS THE ROAD ENDS UP FLOODED. DEBRIS HAS BEEN LEFT TO BLOCK DRAINS ETC FOR YEARS AND NOTHING IS EVER DONE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM DESPITE REPEATED REPORTS BEING GIVEN.

With recent rains the areas reported YEARS AGO to BANES are STILL turned into streams.

BANES has FAILED COMPLETELY in tackling these problems.

All houses in area notified of scheduled resurfacing due end OCT 2010 which may help solve problem........YEARS after BANES being alerted.

ONE DAY'S RAIN CREATES A STREAM IN BETWEEN PAVEMENT AND ROAD.

DESPITE THE INCONVENIENCE OF SCHEDULED WORKS PROMISED TO SORT THE PROBLEM, AT END OF OCTOBER, PROBLEM REMAINS.

SOME WORK BEING CARRIED OUT CURRENTLY NEAR THE PROBLEMATIC SITE BUT YET TO SEE IF THE FLOODING PROBLEM IS BEING DEALT WITH SUFFICIENTLY.

DAYS OF INCONVENIENT ROAD CLOSURES WHILST DIGGING TAKING PLACE OVER THE SAME AREA OF LONG TERM FLOODING...AND AFTER THEIR RESURFACING....STILL IT FILLS WITH WATER!!

DEEP TRENCHES OF MUD AS FAR UP AS NEWBRIDGE HILL SURGERY ON WESTBOUND LANE

Posted anonymously at 12:46, Thu 31 March 2011

Kerbsides full of discarded refuse, thick mud banks etc...as they have been for YEARS despite repeated reports being made to BANES.

BANES clearly does nothing BUT pays JOHN BETTY his obscenely over-inflated salary, paid to his ONE MAN COMPANY until 2013.

If he is supposed to be SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER then why cannot he sort out simple street cleaning/clearing and repairs of potholes?

NO RAIN DOES NOT MEAN THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED AS NO RAIN TO TEST IT.

NO WORK CARRIES OUT, JUST EXCUSES AND LIES FROM BANES SAYING THEY MONITOR THE AREA.

THEY MUST BE BLIND IF THEY CANNOT SEE THE MUD AND FLOODED PARTS....OR THEY ARE STILL LYING THAT EVEN VISIT THE AREA.

NOW RAINS RETURNED [4 6 11] THE POOLS OF STAGNANT WATER RESUME THEIR PRESENCE. BANES IGNORES THIS OR WHY HAS IT NOT BEEN FIXED?

Posted anonymously at 09:29, Sat 9 July 2011

To add to the problem, just 6 WEEKS after this area of road was dug up [WHY?] then left without yellow lines repainted for weeks more, the SAME AREA is now being DUG UP AGAIN?

All this just results in more poor resurfacing and further potholes/recesses etc that fill up as soon as rains fall and then take days to dry/drain away.

SO BANES is STILL failing on dealing with this matter

RAIN will always EQUAL pools of water appearing and then left to stagnate until they have evaporated. And BANES staff visit the area every week re refuse/recycling and so they are complicit in failing to report the matter and get it fixed.

RECENT RAINS PROVED THE PROBLEM NOT FIXED.

ATROCIOUS FLOODING ALONG SIDES OF PAVEMENTS ON NEWBRIDGE HILL....SINCE THE RECENT RAINS HAVE NOT STOPPED FOR WEEKS.

BANES DOES NOTHING TO SORT THIS OUT.
