Same Old Rubbish Dump

Reported in the Rubbish (refuse and recycling) category by Mike Searle at 20:35, Mon 15 February 2010
Sent to Bournemouth Borough Council 4 minutes later

Old beds, mattresses, bin bags, etc. The usual problem with this area once again behind the Corner Cafe in Haviland Road. Obviously no retribution for the perpetrators or their landlords, and so the cycle of rubbish dumping followed by cleaning and removal at council tax payers' expense continues. It looked great for at least two weeks following the last cleaning, but has gone downhill once again.

Excellent work by the Environmental Health Dept. who responded very quickly and cleared the area and left it clean. Sadly within 24 hours or so more rubbish was dumped and it's pretty well back to normal now i.e. a rubbish dump! Obviously the perpetrator(s) believe they have their own private free rubbish disposal facility. Further action please.

The council responded very quickly by cleaning the area on the last occasion, but the area once again deteriorated very rapidly with more rubbish being dumped soon after. As I'm constantly reminding the authorities, this is an ongoing environmental health problem that needs to be sorted permanently by prosecuting the offenders, rather than just providing a private fly-tip removal service.
