This whole area is getting worse - there are more safety signs knocked over (some have been for months now - promises were made about fixing but no action has been taken yet !)In addition there is now a considerable amount of loose gravel, particularly on the RH lane going downhill (southwards)- if a car is forced to drive down side by side with another car (as the poor design allows for)- this is a serious skid hazard. In addition there is at least one large rock the size of a football, lying just off this lane. While we are at it more & more rubbish seems to be gathering here & elsewhere along the new link road. The visibilty has never been improved yet either, as was promised sometime ago !

I agree with this post. The area is a disgrace! The safety signs at the two roundabouts are still knocked over and are unsightl to my! Not to mention the safety issue here! The loose gravel is still scattered across the road. Further to this the visibility at this junction is very poor and is an accident waiting to happen! Does anyone know if Aberdeenshire Council are responsible for this or does this lie with Stewart Milne Group! It looks like everyone with concerns need to mount constant pressure on those responsible to improve this situation!
Apparently it a mix of responsibilities - although that should not stop it from being fixed.I had been on at the council & councillors since this dangerous junction was constructed/opened - the apathy shown has been disgraceful, but fitting of a council (particularly the roads & planning departments) that clearly struggles to deal with anything that involves some form of action being required - you only need to look at the shoking state of the roads to see that. To clarify - from what I've been told - SMH are still responsible for fixing the signs on the roundabout & have been instructed several times to do so, and if they didn't I was advised that the council would do the repairs & bill them for the work - however it seems that neither has happened & that was months ago. The slip roads are the responsibility of Bear & ultimately the roundabout/adjoining roads come under the auspices of our wonderful council. The last notification I had from the council as regards the poor visibility was along the lines of 'it had been of considerable discussion in the office since I'd highlighted it' & that SMH had been asked to submit proposals for it's improvement & they would be considered - I think from memory that was Oct...so about six months ago !!! I would suggest that someone will be seriously injured or killed before this is fixed - by then it will be too late for someone!

Thought I would provide a link in which people can report this issue to the council. The more people report this the more likely the council will act on it - hopefully!!
Signs have been repaired (not like for like - but getting the fixed is progress) & some debris tidied - but starting to build up again already !
most of signs are now fixed and some attempt has been made to clear the debris...but it is already returning. Also - lots of fly tipping is taking place around the new roads. All this is a safety hazard
Ongoing issue - the whole area is a mess, debris, flytipping & lack of maintenance to 'green' area's - very overgrown with weeds etc - this is a safety issue
I was driving on this road to work this morning and thinking the same! The first roundabout ( the one with the junction which will eventually be for the Checkpoint is the worst! I'm sure SM Group are responsible for this as the landscaping company they use have cut the grass verge before!
Most of this is still a mess - very overgrown ! Accident waiting to happen
Most of this is still a mess -very overgrown ! Accident waiting to happen - visibility poor in places due to the lack of maintenance here
Safety signs have in the main been repaired of a fashion...debris continues to grow again by the day, this takes the form of items that have presumably fallen from trucks using these routes to access the various building sites in the area. This is a safety hazard.
