Life must be very dull for people who post absolute rubbish like this,i am one of many people that park work transport in front of my house on chestnut cresent, as i have a right to when paying nearly £250 per year to do so.To be honest in my opinion it helps because it slows all buses & cars who im guessing the author of the original post is one of many to do it!
yes life must be dull but when it comes down to safety thats another thing, there is numerous occasions when near misses have happened and this is due to poor parking of some people on this road, number of people have driveways which they do not use. it doesnt help by slowing vehicles down just blocks the view for oncoming traffic and the author is not one of any whom park there!!.
would you say that it is safe to keep parking on the corner blocking the views not only for car but people wanting to cross the road.
If your main concern is the safety and wellbeing of the public in this area why not petition for a reduced speed limit of 20 mph throughout instead of pin pointing parking as the issue.Following your quote "people wanting to cross the road"
Crossing points are provided for pedestrians where they have difficulty finding sufficient gaps in traffic to get safely across the road. this quoted on the BMBC Website. You tell me if there is one anywhere near the bad parking in question ANSWER NO!
If the public choose not to use these it is nobodys problem but there own!
surveys are completed prior to postioning these crossing points! With safety of the public the major concern!
NO Parking restrictions, yellow lines or signage are present in this vicinity so as far as im concerned im braking no laws.
Most familys have more than one vehicle in the houseold and the driveways will not accomodate more than 1 car/van
Suggest to me a alternitive safe and secure place to park my vehicle and i'm happy to oblige, i woud'nt expect yourself or any other resident to park there vehicle miles from there house and run the risk of been broken into or stolen!
