Dogs fouling on grass verge

From Coppy Close upto 58 March Cote Lane we have a grass verge on the pavement, which we have to walk across when getting in/out of the car. The grass is FULL of dog excrement, the problem has got progressively worse since summer last year. I know residents were going out and picking up the mess (people who don't have dogs) because they were stepping in it when getting in their cars. We would like the grass removing and either the pavement 'thinning' so the road is wider or justs removing the grass and replacing with flags/tarmac etc..
