Parking problem

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 11:02, Thu 14 January 2010
Sent to Flintshire Council 2 minutes later

Could something please be done about cars parking opposite the junction to Maxwell Close. This is a difficult enough junction to get out of without there being traffic approaching on the wrong side of the road. They have off road parking, please ask them to use it.

This is a police matter. Please could you call "101" from a landline, then log a call with the non-emergencies call centre.

I would have though it was more a matter for the traffic warden and therefore to be dealt with by the council. I will not ring the police because of poor parking!

ended up ringing my local councillor - he's getting it fixed. Queries should not be allowed to be marked as fixed unless both parties agree this is the case.

This is exactly the problem I predicted when permission went in for those new houses! I even saw a traffic warden walk past one of these 'illegal' vehicles and do nothing. There are no double lines on that side of the road - but there does not need to be. The Highway Code clearly states that you should not park within 10m of a junction. How long before there is a serious accident here?

thanks for your support there 'anon', I've seen the traffic warden ignore them too and don't understand why.

More cars parked there this week. This morning there was a large white van directly opposite the junction causing utter chaos. As for calling 101 - well normally you are driving when you come across this!

The van was there all morning. So much for Councillor Mike Peers dealing with this :(.

And it's still there!

I think he must live there, it's now 10pm and it's still there.
