Grit box

Reported anonymously at 20:53, Mon 4 January 2010
Sent to Staffordshire County Council and Cannock Chase District Council 2 minutes later

This grit box has been tipped over and is empty (through use on road)The kind man on the corner grits everytime it snows, good on ya! Can it be refilled as it is a significant slope and dangerous when icy and there are many elderly on this estate and a busy junction onto heathgap rd.

This is an update on the situation with the grit box. The grit box was filled within a day of the council receiving the problem. However, by the end of the same day, the box was empty and even with the significant amount of snow which we had received there were numerous driveways which were nicely gritted. Coincidence I think not. Maybe the council should use a UV dye in with the grit and then inspect where it has been used. It's a shame that the grit can't be used for the right purpose.
