Grit Boxes

It would be much appreciated if a grit box could be positioned at the top of Howes Lane/Grange Avenue. Then people living at the top of the hill do not have the risk of falling in icy conditions to get grit from the 2 grit boxes situated at the bottom of the hill. One is adjacent with Leigh Avenue and if this is empty then a further walk to the one at Brentwood Avenue where no slope exists. Thank you.

I understand the problems with the recent climate, but this was the reason for the request due to the danger of having to walk down/up a hill to use the existing grit box.

Having telephoned to enquire about the delay I was informed the Highways dept had run out of grit boxes and it would be at least 3 weeks before they got any.
