No gritting/salt provision on south pavement of Warwick Road

This pavement is north-facing and receives almost no sunlight. Even a slight frost makes it slippery, and in icy weather it can remain unthawed for weeks. Warwick Road is a thoroughfare to Histon Road for Mayfield Primary School and residents of a large number of side-streets in the area. The wide grass verge makes crossing back and forth to avoid the ice difficult.

City council: I have forwarded your message on to the Highways department at the County Council, as they are responsible for the pavements and roadways within the county.
County council ("Street Scene"):
Footpaths are not normally gritted, the following link explains the gritting action we take: http://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/transport/roads/winter/which+roads+do+w e+salt.htm We do however provide the salt for bins provided by your District, Town or Parish Council the details are: http://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/transport/roads/winter/salt+bins.htm We trust this answers your enquiry but if we can be of further assistance please contact us. Kind Regards Cambridgeshire Direct (Highways)
So County Council: where are the salt bins you are filling up or is this a classic reply intended to absolve you from responsibility. Its not very joined up is it?
