Sent to Sunderland City Council 2 minutes later
When the road was constructed it was concrete.it had a layer(thin) of tarmac laid on top certainly more than 30 years ago.this tarmac is now breaking up in 25+placesand is at the stage where it will damage cars is a major problem for cyclists and pedestrians. it needs sorting as a priority!!!!

Updates
the problem has been seen by the council employee responsible for this area. he has to report to the city enginneers dept. for them to make a decision(ie another time delay!!!)In fairness the road has been covered in ice for the last 25 days so inpection could be a bit tricky.
since my last return NOTHING has been done. I am not aware that the city engineers dept. has further inspected the problem with a view to fixing same. meanwhile the surface further deteriorates.as my original return to you was on 14.12.09 I do not have a problem with you forwarding this e-mail to them.
the potholes have now been marked with white spray prior to what I understand will be their repair. All will be revealed!!
white aerosol marks are round the holes but that is ALL !!
the sprayed white marks round the holes are still there but the holes have NOT been repaired!!!!
no it has not been fixed the vwhite marks mentioned before will i am sure be compleytely faded soon and the road will remain the same!!!
as i said in my last message NOTHING has been done except for white marks round the old holes the road has further eroded in the meantime.
since you last contacted me I have been in touch with the highways dept. of the council and have been fobbed off with the glib excuse that the streets in sunderland "are being repaired in order of urgency".Why waste time and money in putting white marks round the needed repairs in the street if there is no intention of doing anything about them? I think at this late stage fixmysteet should forward this e-mail to the appropriate dept. of sunderland council in the hope of getting some sensible reaction.
