Private Lane previously Invicta Site
Reported in the Flytipping category by Anna Hopkins at 14:38, Tue 8 December 2009
Sent to Bromley Borough Council 2 minutes later
Over the past year I have contacted Bromley Council regarding the flytipping having sent numerous emails. There is a mountain of polystyrene which is highly combustible and been there over 6 months amongst other flytipping, mattresses, suites, fridges, cement etc.
Below please see my last emails to Bromley which they do not appear to be dealing with. I attend the St Paul's Cray Residence Association once a month and all members are in agreement that this is an ongoing saga that is not being dealt with. Would you kindly monitor this situation and see if there is any thing that can be done for the residents who are living with this unsightly site. I have copies of previous emails should you request them. Copy below for information:
Dear Mr Lines
Please note that the Invicta Site is no longer a secure area as the main panel by the building has come down and all matter of tipping is occurring. This includes shopping trolleys. As you have not replied to my undermentioned email sent approximately a few weeks ago I am very disappointed and annoyed, which following the recent St Paul's Cray Residents Meeting where this item was discussed again, is not just my feelings but that of many. Mr Patterson in copy, are you monitoring this situation because it has become stagnant and the tipped rubbish still remains. Anna Hopkins. continued ....

We now have a 5 foot cabinet dumped and no doubt as soon as this is removed we no doubt will have something else dumped to replace the removed items. If the dumping was on the area responsible to Bromley we would be able to inform you and have it removed quite soon but as this small area is private we appear to have a problem in clearing the site in a reasonable time. No doubt the area belongs to the same owner as the fenced off area of the Inivicta site therefore why did the owner not fence off the whole area leaving this small patch vulnerable for fly tipping. It would appear to be in the owner's best interest to fence off this area therefore not making them liable to the cost of removing the dumped items. > > Thank you for suggesting we meet up but I really do not see how this would be beneficial as we both know the problem and our meeting would not solve this unfortunate situation, which should be resolved between Bromley and the owner. You could attend the St Paul's Cray Residents Association which meets the first Thursday of every month at 8.00 pm in the back of the Bull Pub in St Paul's Cray Village and explain to all the unhappy residents why this problem is not being resolved. I am sorry to be continuing with what appears to be an on-going saga but this is our residence and we feel it should be resolved between you and the owner/s of the site. Surely the owner being made to secure the site, fly tipping notices being displayed and the current dumped rubbish being removed would go a long way to resolving this despairing situation. > > Thank you > Anna Hopkins > ---- "Lines wrote: > > Good morning Ms Hopkins > > > > Thank you for advising me about this further fly-tipping incident - I will inspect the location this afternoon and arrange for its removal. > > > > I would like to meet with you to discuss these problems that clearly affect you directly. On my arrival home this evening these mattresses have now been replaced with a double mattress and a large 3 piece suite and other sacks of rubbish. Would you therefore get back to the owner/s of this site and ask that this fly tipping is removed once again. All the time fly tipping is being seen to be done this area has now become a target therefore could some arrangement be made that the owner either checks this area regularly to clear it or fences off the area to stop this continuing which is really very unpleasant for residents in this area. I really feel there is no support for residents from the Borough of Bromley and would request that Mr Doug Patterson personally looks into why this matter over many many months is not being resolved. Would Sondra, Chairperson of the Residents Association and Brenda Thompson please continue to support this issue in the near coming Residents Association Meeting as I have had to give my apologies for this meeting. For decency sake, please may something be done to stop this disgraceful continuing saga which we have to face daily. > > > > > > > > Thank you > > Anna Hopkins > > > > > > > > ---- London Borough of Bromley E-Mail Disclaimer ---- > > > > "For information about Bromley Council visit our web site www.bromley.gov.uk" > > > > "The information contained in this message (including any attachments) is confidential in that it is intended solely for the use of the recipient, the use of the information by disclosure, copying or distribution is prohibited and may be unlawful." > > > > ---- End of Disclaimer ----

Updates
Please be advised that following sending you an email on the Invicta Site earlier today, I was told by a neighbour that yesterday, Monday 7th December, there was a fire at this site and the Fire Brigade was called. In the summer they were called to a fire, shutting the road down with 5 Fire Engines arriving. There have been several other fires at the same site and yet the combustible polystyrene mountain and all the other rubbish still remains. This site is not secured, fencing having come down, and is now open to all the flytippers and fire starters. Please add this information to my earlier email. Thank you
The panel that made the site insecure was very untidly repaired but all the rubbish remains behind the gate that is visible to all who pass the open mesh gates. Polystyrene mountain, shopping trolley, burnt timbers and all manner of refuse remain at this site, in fact the site remains unsightly and Bromley Council do not appear to be tackling this problem at all. Photo of the last fire we experience which was December 7th 2009, fortunately it was not near to the mountain of combustible polystyrene that has been dumped on this site.
