Re-numbering the street

I live at no. four, st george's street, around the corner from St George's place, and within the same area as st george's Street. I have intercepted the postmen ON MY STREET, only to be told that st George's Mews is in kemptown. The house faces a street sign saying, 40, gloucester street. the end result is that a large number of very importan tletters from my university, the courts, employment tribunal letters, letters from solicitors,DVLA, utility bills and other very important letters(even recorded delivery letters) simply don't arrive. st George's mews is an add-on,built after the street was numbered, and it creates endless problems for me and other residents. I had seven letterd posted incorrectly to my house on one day, and a DVLA licence did not arrive. i am very unhappy about this state of affairs, I have even had to have utilities bills re-directed to the university, four miles away, as a short-term solution. it was careless to chose a name that was already in use, and to have the same street include three seperate street names creates a great deal of inconveniance. It took the coun cil six weeks to find my house to deliver a ''binvelope', so I am not alone in find the current system confusing! I am hopeful that you will find a solution, via re-naming the street, in its entirety, as the current situation needs to be addressed.

The council took a long time to reply, and there response was very unhelpful. they admitted that naming streets in similar ways causes problems with postal deliveries, but were unwilling to address the problem in any way. A very disappointing response.
