Contraflow cycle lane marking erased

Reported in the Road signs category anonymously at 19:01, Mon 23 November 2009
Sent to Brighton and Hove City Council 3 minutes later

Many of the contraflow cycle lane markings on Preston Street (direction arrows and bicycle symbols) were wholly or partially erased by contractors digging up the road during 2008. This cycle lane frequently seems to function as a convenient parking or loading bay cars and vans in any case, particularly at the southern end, just in time for cyclists to move out into the path of oncoming cars pelting through the green lights to race up Preston Street. Nice.

After 2 years, the markings were finally repainted in Feb 2010. Such is the heady pace of life in a 'Cycling Demonstration Town' :)
