We have huge lorries careening up and down our windy, narrow village road, using it as a rat run. This is ruining the village and is incredibly hazardous.

Updates
There appears to be some work going on in the form of signage on the Bedford Southern Bypass 9aka A431 heading east but it remains to be seen if this will be completed or will have any effect.
There are still a Number of lorries using village as cut through even with the weight restriction signs in place. Is there anyway of placing new signs up to make it clear to lorries passing through of the change?
There are now weight restrictions plus prohibition of through traffic in the morning and afternoon. This, however, has had absolutely NO impact. Completely pointless and a waste of taxpayers' money.
What it needs it some occasional police enforcement. If not working people / Local Authority should refer to Police Safer Neighbourhood Team. Better to have something to enforce than nothing at all. Great Barford has been suffering more recently with Very large heavy goods vehicles and as always cars using it as a cut through to Sandy avoiding the Black Cat roundabout on A1
