Litter

Sent to Lancaster City Council 4 minutes later

I live on Gregson Rd, Lancaster. Over the past few months I have noticed a rise in the level of litter on the streets as a result of the recycling system, culminating on Monday with litter strewn across and down the streets of the Moorlands area.I beleive there are a few reason for this:1,Overfilled boxes 2,Bad design of boxes. Lids do not fit properly 3,Careless recycling workers who do not pick up after themselves when they have spilled cardboard, newspapers and plastics onto the streets when they are tipping the items into the truck 4,Workers not picking up items when they have blown down the street. I am in favour of recycling and support it. However, since it was introduced our streets are dirtier than ever. I would be very grateful if the Council could take some responsibility for this as numerous complaints have come to nothing.

Your not alone - no only are they useless across the district and I have complained before and been told the boxes are what they are told to buy - useless.... any way don't worry - knowing this lot our litter probably ends up buried in some village in India ( see Watchdog a couple of years ago )
