Speeding vehicles using the "access only" road as a short cut

Reported in the Roads/highways category by Dr Rob Greig at 11:42, Tue 17 November 2009
Sent to Gateshead Borough Council 2 minutes later

I have reported this issue to the council over a year ago. One section of the road "California" is single carriageway and it has "Access Only" signs at both ends.

Cars zip up and down it as a short cut to the council estate. There are several young families that live on this stretch of road. Its only a matter of time before someone is injured. There is no room for a pavement.

All it needs is a couple of bollards at the end to avoid a fatality.

The council still have done bugger all, however some residents may actually own the land that the road is on. So we are looking at private speed bump installation
