Severe Repeated Dog Fouling

Reported in the Dog fouling category by Fiona Harrison Parent at 09:58, Wed 11 November 2009
Sent to Barnsley Borough Council 1 minute later

Today there were no less than 5 piles of dog fouling on the path between the corner of Green Acres and the pedestrian crossing on Sheffield Road. This is an ongoing problem that is getting worse, there are no loose dogs around so it is people walking their dogs either last thing at night or early morning that are causing this problem. This is disgusting, unhealthy and unacceptable, as the main thoroughfare to Springvale School the pavement is heavily used by walkers and parents and childminders with pushchairs. This morning I witnessed mothers crossing over Green Road to avoid the pollution meaning they then have to cross to school without the safety of the manned pedestrian crossing. On my way home I observed four of the piles flattened (probably on their way into our beautifully School). Just to finish our walk off there was a pool of vomit on the path outside the school! Can we please have a dog fouling bin and signs on the lampposts to educate these irresponsible people, I for one do not want to walk my child in this filthy area!

The marker has gone to the wrong place (not where I clicked!) It is the left side of greenroad, going towards the school!

The council took action, patrolling the area and painting signs on the footpath. Unfortunately some ignorant people are still allowing their dogs to foul on the footpath, even on the newly painted signs.
