The queues of traffic each morning down Stockwood Road (all the way back to Hungerford Road) are immense in the morning due to the majority of road users not being aware that they should merge with oncoming traffic when turning right onto Bath Road. The Bath road has two lanes allowing both directions of traffic to merge yet those turning right from Stockwood Road simply sit there waiting for all Emery Road traffic to cease, therefore only allowing 2/3 cars per traffic light change to pass.
Please please please resolve this and at least add merge signs as a minimum because this is causing the residents of Stockwood/Hungerford Road severe frustration, not to mention the traffic users. Thanks

Still liaising with council over the requirement for a merge sign OR reprogramming of traffic lights, as presently they are not functioning properly, and risking accidents each day.
The road is so wide there that there's easily room for two lanes at the exit of the lights and then merge later, towards the park and ride exit. Some continued lane markings would make it clearer as to what to do rather than a VERY wide single lane which causes major hold ups. Then merge further down the road towards the Park and Ride exit which is what most straight through Bristol to Bath A4 drivers have to do anyway
It was me that originally posted this problem and unfortunately the response/concern from the council has been minimal. Were they to visit and actually note the number of cars having to travel through amber/red lights so as to squeeze more than 3 cars through each traffic light transition, they would understand the issue.
Very frustrating and still awaiting an adequate response to prove that they have actually considered this properly.
Yes, in the moring and evening rush hours it's awful. Dividing lane markings EXACLY the same as they have for going into Bristol there at the same junction would help along with a turning right green filter arrow even if only in the morning or evening rush hours it would be better and a lot safer than it is at present
