Caravans and families
Reported in the Abandoned vehicles category anonymously at 15:07, Mon 2 November 2009
Sent to East Lindsey District Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 78652.
This part of a quiet country lane has in the region of nine old caravans that appear to have children and adults living in them. Laundry belonging to a toddler was drying on a make shift line and there was much evidence of rubbish from everyday living. There are also at least two dogs tied up on chains. Some track motorbikes and at least one green Ford car is also present. Some of the caravans look to have been there for quite some time. This is a peaceful part of the wolds enjoyed by walkers and horse riders in the area. The area feels very unsafe and it is a concern if children and animals are also present there.

-
There continues to be a variety of cars and motorbikes going down this footpath to access the caravans - no sign of the Council to date acting upon this.

There are still several people, including at least one young child and several dogs, living in these caravans. The area is a country lane/footpath yet it appears these caravans have been present for quite some time. The area has a lot of rubbish and spoils the countryside for all walkers. It is a concern that these people have not been moved by the council since it is clear they should not be there.

I am concerned that the council appear not to have taken any action over this. Having walked down the lane recently there were at least four adults and a young child living there, plus two dogs tied to chains. There is a lot of litter and waste in the area and several vehicles which don't look fit to be on the road. The area is a public bridleway and is currently spoilt by these unwelcome residents. Please can the council investigate this a a matter of urgency.

The police are aware of these people and report that they used to live on nearby farm land before it was sold, which was when they then moved to the bridleway. The police have said that they cannot do anything and that it is a council problem - I am suprised that no-one from the council seems to want to take action on this - a beautfiul part of the wolds is being spolit for others because of these people.

These families are still there - with one of their dogs keep running up and down the lane off any lead.
The police have informed me that they are powerless to do anything and that it is a council matter.Posted anonymously at 13:54, Fri 26 March 2010
