Man Hole Cover lifted

Reported anonymously at 17:21, Sun 1 November 2009; the map was not used so pin location may be inaccurate
Sent to Brighton & Hove Council 4 minutes later

At the junction of the Green and Dean Court Road, on the south side, a heavy man hole cover consisting of 2 triangles has been lifted by water pressure and moved away from the hole, leaving the hole unprotected and down which someone could fall causing serious injury. This has happened on many previous occasions and been reported repeatedly by the Rottingdean Parish Council.

This problem was again present yesterday as a result of heavy rain. The Council has been out to look at it but not been able to prevent it happening again. This time it wasn't serious as the cover only had water gushing out from the sides, ie it had NOT lifted it completely away from the hole.
