Bad road surface

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 10:32, Sun 1 November 2009
Sent to Trafford Borough Council 2 minutes later

Due heavy traffic eg buses/lorries and increase volume of cars the road surface is breaking up and needs immediate serious attention viz resurfacing and generally updating. Also new speed restrictions need to be imposed as there sre many more young children in the area attending both Cloverley School and Altrincham College of Arts.If something is not done quickly sometime in the near future there is certain to be a serious accident. Also the traffic calming humps are worse than useless as they do not slow the traffic. They are noisy and dangerous!!!.

The road surface is getting worse on the whole length of Wood Lane due to the excessiive use of traffic including goods vehicles, delivery vans, motor vehicles to and from the airport/hospital,as well as it being a designated bus route. It is full of patches/repairs which are continually breaking up and causing bad holes. Also the road humps which are supposed to slow the traffic down do not have any effect whatsoever and are a complete waste of money and time and should be dispensed with.As there are now more children attending the two schools in the area it is essential that everything is kept in good condition and maintained otherwise one day there could be a nasty and serious accident especialy with the speed vehicles travel up and down the road.Prompt action is needed!!!

Since the inclement weather, the state of the road has become worse, with many more deep pot holes and the road breaking up generally especially where the road has been patched up/repaired.It is most dangerous as vehicles tend to swerve to avoid these which could lead to a serious accident/s.There does not appear to have been any survey/examination of the state of the road.I understand the council (Trafford) apparently receives a grant from the EU for the upkeep of the infra stucture-along with us paying high council tax-so why is there no action to remedy the situation? Urgent action is neccessary!!!!

The state of the road is fast becoming very dangerous due to the councils inability to rectify its appalling state--it is breaking up very quickly and i say again that if nothing is done soon there could be a serious accident and the blame would rest entirly on the councils shoulders!!!!!The POT HOLES are getting bigger!!!

Wood Lane in general is fast becomming a nightmare to drive along--there are so many POT HOLES and BROKEN ROAD surfaces that it is like driving through an obsticle course and it is getting worse by the day-the more fraffic using the road the more it will deteriate and the more dangerous it will become!!--typical council inactivity!!

Wood Lane is positively dangerous and damaging to vehicles. I am going to sue someone if my car suffers damage to the suspension due to the atrocious pot holes!

There has been a LITTLE activity today(8/4/10) in so far that a few bad patches have been repaired but from the standard of work i cannot see them lasting very long especially with the ammount of traffic using the road--they willsoon be ripped up and will need repairing again very soon.If a job is worth doing its worth doing well!!! The whole road surface needs relaying--it has not been done for over 50 years!!!!

Absolutely no action and the road surface is deteriating and becomming full of ripped up repairs and pot holes which are a very big hazzard as vehicles are weaving around them--there is sure to be an accident if nothing is done in the very near future!!!

Wood Lane's road surface is appalling. All that ever happens is patch repairs and it gets worse by the week!
