Taqa Sign Obscures View

Reported in the Street nameplates category anonymously at 14:14, Thu 29 October 2009
Sent to Aberdeenshire Council 1 minute later

The roundabout near Taqa's Westhill premises presents a visibility danger due to the Taqa sign being placed in close proximity to the roundabout. As the sign is positioned essentially on the grass verge a clear view of traffic is not possible to road users travelling west until the very last moment. Consequently cars entering the roundabout from Taqa are at risk of creating an accident unless they enter with extreme caution. The sign requires to be moved further away from the road side and positioned well within Taqa's perimeter boundary.

Aberdeenshire Council do not believe there is an issue here.

The problem is made worse by drivers from the industrial estate who do not signal left when entering the roundabout to head towards Aberdeen. Consequently drivers heading west have to suddenly brake and stop. The whole set up and attitude of drivers at this roundabout hampers smooth progress of traffic heading west.
