Damaged Direction Indicators

Reported in the Road traffic signs category anonymously at 19:55, Wed 28 October 2009
Sent to Aberdeenshire Council 4 minutes later

There are now several missing/damaged direction indicators on the two roundabouts on the new link road at Marywell & yet to open 'the checkpoint'. Some drivers seem unable to negotiate these roundabouts properly & seem to need these signs to help them !

Council advised that the developer had been requested to fix these (& obviously they hadn't & still haven't!) Council claimed that if need be they would fix them & bill the developer, but no timescale was given...which is worrying...clearly these direction indicators are needed (or they wouldn't have been there in the first place)...so urgent action is needed to reinstate them...the fact that they have been damaged in the first place only further highlights the issues that exist with the design of these roundabouts/this section of road. Hopefully someone will see fit to look at the overall design, before there is a serious accident/fatality.

Now there are even more damaged - council have advised it's the developers responsibility to fix them - won't hold our breath then, they are only interested in building houses !

Sadly not - promises made that it was to be dealt with - but months later they remain flattened - they are clearly needed or they wouldn't have been there - disappointing !

...how long can it take to fix these - over 4 months apparently - what a poor service

The signs are still down. I had a near miss on this section of road the other day. I came off the A90 at the new slip road. At my approach to the roundabout I always stop at the junction because of poor visibility. Just as I started to move off a car came thundering out of the underpass causing me to slam on my brakes. Very poor design!

Please my reply to the same problem titled - 'Dangerous 'debris' & damaged signage at Marywell/A90 junction'

We certainly need to mount some pressure to get this fixed before someone is killed here.

Please see my reply to a post for the same location titled - 'Dangerous 'debris' & damaged signage at Marywell/A90 junction'

We need to start putting pressure on those responsible before someone is killed here, there have even been reports of some drivers going the wrong way round the roundabout !

It's a start at least! I also noticed that at the debris and grit on the roundabout and roads have been cleaned up - Street cleaner was going along the road on Monday afternoon.
