Lowered lip removed from cyclepath

Hi. There has been some reworking of the cycle path here in the last few weeks, and the lowered lip of the cycle path on the south side of the road has been removed, making it a danger to cyclists.

The lip has been replaced with a small squidge of tarmac rammed up against the kerb. This is totally unsuitable.

The work being done here will result in a new raised table across Richmond Road between Martello Street and Hackney Grove. This will be a welcome enhancement to the priority of the crossing.

While the work is going on, it's not unreasonable to expect people to dismount for this short section, or at least take additional care if they insist on staying on their bikes.

Admittedly, it would help to calm frustrations if there was a sign to explain the nature of the improvement that is being carried out. And you are right, helpful though the temporary tarmac-blob ramp is, it could be done better. Then again, should the contractor be encouraging cyclists to ride up onto what is actually a pedestrian-only section of footway?
