Road markings wrongly applied

Several weeks ago the white line road markings were refurbished or altered on the main road through Forestmill. Part of the work consisted of hatching out the slip/deceleration lane leading to the junction with the side road leading to Coalsnaughton Village etc.

In my opinion this effectively removed or at least discourages the use of a very useful safety provision on a busy trunk road.

Why for goodness sake remove a feature which has existed for very many years to the detriment of overall road safety.

An e-mail response was received from Clackmannan Council which attempted to justify the current arrangement of the road markings - I totally disagree with their suggestion that the new arrangement will help reduce speeds on the main road through Forestmill but it is obvious that the Council intends to take no remedial action on this matter - We will wait and see if they change their mind in the event of an acctident.
