Illegal parking

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 15:30, Mon 19 October 2009
Sent to Bromley Borough Council 5 minutes later

No enforcement action being taken to stop the daily illegal parking of G4S security vans with all four wheels on (and consequently blocking) the pavement when servicing Tesco.

The shabby excuse offered when closing the previous complaint simply does not stand up to scrutiny.

The footpath along Station Road, which is where the problem is, is still on the public highway and is a public right of way (as was made very clear in the application process for new Tesco store) and is as such subject to exactly the same rules and regulations as any council maintained footpath.

Parking in such a way as to obstruct any Public Right of Way – irrespective of whether or not it is privately maintained – is an offence and enforcement action should be taken.
