Kelsey Park Sports College Parking in Street

Since Kelsey Park Sports College staff and students started to park in this street, as well as parents waiting, including at the end over recent years, and in sight lines, the situation has become increasingly hazardous both to those of us needing to visit and leave homes in Little Acre, as well as boys entering and leaving the school.

Particularly parking near the junction with Manor Way leads to having to drive on the wrong side of the road to get out. It is only a matter of time before a car seeking to enter Little Acre causes a head on collision because of this. It similarly means that cars leaving Little Acre are that much closer to the school entrance and boys coming right in front of cars coming out on the wrong side.

The school clearly needs to take responsiblity and improve onsite parking for staff and students. Likewise to ask parents not to clog up Little Acre as there should be quite adequate room for them in Manor Way.

Hatched "School" markings, as well as enforcement, (which does not seem to happen re an Ice Cream Van that parks adjacent to the school gate), would be very appropriate at the end of the road adjacent to the school entrance, if not more than those just past Little Acre.

There is also a related problem where occupants of cars leave food wrappings etc. in the road and the school needs to be tackled about this abuse.

Clearly for those who live in Little Acre and who have legitimate business the areas adjacent to the drives and houses need to be kept much clearer than they are to allow for legitimate parking. A disabled man lives at no. 2 and regularly also needs to manoeuvre his specially adapted van out into the road and along it. As witnessed recently the present situation is not very helpful to him.
