Dangerous road surface

For over a year now, the road section around the pedestrian crossing has been deteriorating and poses immanent danger to cyclists. There are numerous potholes in this section in addition to cracked and dangerously uneven surface. This section is also dark due to a large tree that blocks street lighting. The council has been ignoring reports of this hazard and has done so despite at least two accidents that occurred due to poor road conditions.
Road works in the area have been ongoing and recently plumbing has been replaced on the eastern carriageway north of the crossing. Despite this, the problem persists and no efforts to fix this section of the road are visible. It is alarming that the council has yet to take any notice of repeated requests to address this problem.
