Too bright onto house

Reported in the Street lighting category anonymously at 09:07, Fri 25 September 2009
Sent to Cornwall Council 2 minutes later

Due to position of my house, the light shines very brightly on the facade and though the roof velux. Apart from preventing me from sleeping, it is directly into my eyes when standing in the kitchen or bathroom, this has caused eye pain

Phoned council and lighting dept finally rang me back and have promised to put shades on two lights that are causing me problems. He was sympathetic and said it would be done by Friday. I was relieved to have a communication and am waiting to see what happens...

Shields fitted are very small and havent changed anything. Council has agreed to fit larger shades and send inspector. last night all the lights were out for a while, bliss! Then were on but seemed less bright and bearable, but later up to normal floodlight brightness, depressing

Nothing has happened since my last update, costing me to keep ringing the council! They said they'd phone me but no one has. I've got to get up energy to ring them again..perhaps they will just ignore me till I give up! I havent slept properly for a month, and the light always wakes me in the night when I have gone to sleep.
