Blocked footpath

According to the Ordnance Survey map there is supposed to be a footpath running from the back of Pawton Farm up to West Park Farm on the A39. Whilst not probably true to describe it as physically blocked it is not signed and there is no evidence of a path. My husband and I have both tried to find the path whilst out running by approaching it from either end (on separate occasions) and have both been told by (presumably) the farmer that there is no footpath there and 'encouraged' to leave.
