Car Park Lighting

Sent to Birmingham City Council less than a minute later
The place known as Gough Street Car Park has been empty & locked for some 2 years now, this is a disgrace knowing the shortage of parking spaces for residents in the city centre. The lights are on 24 hours a day 7 days a week. There are many residents that would pay a monthly fee to be able to have this facility reinstated to those living in Cleveland & Clydesdale Towers, when BCC were asked why they were closing the garage down they replied to the residents that the spaces were going to be used for BCC staff working in the city, there was an out cry from residents and since then they have been cleaned out new light tubes installed and a new lock put on the gate so it's just a waste to leave it standing there unused, residents could pay say something in the region of £40.00 per month, there must be 50 spaces free, that would be £2000 per month revenue why won't BCC make a decision one way or the other. A posted reply would be nice to say the least.

The same problem has still not been addresses. LIGHTS left on and BCC wonder why they have to pay high eletricity bills etc.
No the lights are still on, we keep being told that we should be more green and I agree but come on BCC over two years and your still burning lighting in a locked up garage in Gough Street I suppose it's all dow to having enough staff to get one of the street lighting team to come along and turn them all off but what do you do just bury your head in the sand and hope that the problem will go away.
How much do we pay for lighting that is just wasted? Street light repairs are not being done but BCC can waste all this money over a locked up unused garage. Disgusting.
Still not turned off, still the council have so much money to waste that I suppose it dose not matter.
I really don't think that Birmingham City Council care about how much money is being wasted and certainly are not concerned about residents living in the city. In most cases we were not given a choice as to where we live, some of us had no home's and this was all that was on offer. I appreciate that Social Housing is a privilege not a right.
