Poor Parking

Cars parking on Birchley Park Avenue estate. The staff at the AA & NPOWER call centres near by think our estate is an overspill car park and up 30 cars can be parked on here with Mondays the worst.I have challenged some of the people and they just dont care.We have had occasions when the bin men can't get up the street and also i have had 2 furniture deliveries which would not deliver after not being able to get up the street due to double parking. The local officers focused on this for a short while and issued tickets for parking offences, this no longer happens. When these offices were built for AA & NPOWER we were assured that there would be no parking problems.

I have also noticed the terrible parking by AA workers. Action needs to be taken now.

Again this week i had a furniture delivery and the lorry could not get up the street. I have been informing security at the offices (01215437605) who cause the problem and they have been getting the cars moved but the following day they come back. The council and police are not bothered at all and this is because it does not concern them.We need some sort of permit parking on the estate.

This has got worse.....I had one guy park over my drive earlier this week and had to get the security at British Gas to ask him to move it.When challenged he said they park on here as there is no parking where they work.If everyone on the estate complained i am sure we could sort this out but find it strange the residents on our estate cant be bothered ?

Give the police a list of offending vehicles and ask them to attend to deal with those which are 'causing an obstruction' Mention the lack of emergency vehicle access. Repeat as necessary. Ask the council for parking permits. Petition your neighbours and present to local councillor - he'll be looking for your vote at the next election ;^)

Write direct to the MDs of these companies (address the letter by name which you'll need to enquire about) They do not like to have to deal with complaints. Check the planning permission for these premises to see if permission was granted with conditions about parking. Remind the MDs if that's the case.

I have contacted Sandwell Council and there have been letters sent out for permit parking on the estate which will sort this issue out. If people dont bother to send their letters back then there is nothing more i can do and just shows the issue although people do moan are not prepared to do anything about this.
